Sadly, I agree with you and the trustworthy folks are the one's heading for the door... I do not blame them.

 

Sadly, this isn't a new phenomena that's just now taking place. Committee members have been leaving in frustration for years as their ideas and opinions were meaningless if they didn't conform to what the general manager or the board wanted. I lasted all of 8 months in 2018 on the Long Range Planning Committee (including 2 months on hiatus). Ben Roloff, the most normal, best human being on the planet walked away a few months later.

There is little value to a butt in a chair if all you are expected to do is rubber stamp their agenda.

Same old song, different day.

Would you be willing to run for the board for a second term, create a team of four, with the agenda of change needed? You, more than anyone, knows the goals that need to be achieved, how to establish a team of like minded people to create the right environment for change and help create a positive environment for a training program for the board, as well as the community. I feel confident that you have met several people who you would consider this activity if they knew you were going to be the spearhead for the project.
You stepped up before, when all of the cards were stacked against you. This time, there exists wide open opportunities for change. In my opinion.

I promise with everything I have, the question posed was in no way an attempt to insult you or cause harm in any way. I had the pleasure of serving with you once before during some difficult times. I think you are one of the best representatives of Sun City and its values. Please forgive me if I offended you in any way by asking the question I did.

 

Hopefully the owner/administrator/moderator will quickly clean up the actions of a slightly juvenile and clearly angry person. I know bots from time to time are used to get readers to click on links. This is a case of a truly disturbed person.

If the admin needs help, there are several well qualified TOSC members who can easily dump the crap being posted.

 

Carole and I are doing everything we can by reporting and asking for help through the Contact feature to stop this Phishing Spammer Attack!
As Carole said, there may not be action taken over the weekend…If not, hopefully on Monday.

 

Bot accounts have attacked this site since its inception. 7/2013, 10/2017, 11/2017, 9/2023, 3/2024 were a few times I found. Genius computer kids have been around since Steve Jobs, and before.

It's getting worse which is intriguing to me? Who or why would anyone/someone take the time to crap all over a site like this? Seems pretty petty from my perspective.

 

Quit sharing links to SC Chat. I did a search and when you have shared links to you FB group this site is inundated with this garbage. FB is notorious for being an unsafe site, and no your group is not private. FB even has a tutorial on how to create bots for chat rooms. Building Bots

Duh, the Facebook page i post on is a private group. On the other hand, it appears as if someone who is technology savvy has decided to try and wreck our community.

So sad.

Duh, anyone can request to join, and unless you do a search to find out if they live in SC and just accept a request you don't know where they live. Your personal profile can be blocked from everyone except your friends list. Nextdoor will not accept anyone without proof of residence, eg. utility bill etc.

And the extra bonus is anyone on your chat group can share any post with whoever they want to. Private? I think not. Maybe stick with SC history.

So much more sad.

 

Over my years in Sun City I have met/engaged with thousands of people. Fascinating when you consider during those 26 years of coming to this remarkable community, i,ve come across a handful who didn’t like it here and they moved on. Never once did I meet anyone who elected to leave returned to crap on the community. Not one until now.

Far be it from me to tell others how to live, but holding on to resentments and the burning desire for revenge or retribution will never result in happiness. Let go, let God, or whomever you turn to for solace should be your place of serenity. Too bad, because people should strive to find peace of mind and contentment.

Sadly, too many elect to be miserable. To each their own.

 

Sorry Bill, you crap on me all the time. Don't you ever wonder what would have happened if your first post to me wasn't "I'd welcome you to the site Josie, but that would be disingenuous on my part." The day after I joined you doxed me with that hateful statement and everyone followed suit. Who started the hate Bill?

As far as Sun City is concerned it has been crapping on members since 2003 with the change in assessment fee policy. Now because a handful of people want a PAC my money on the fact it will get built. Maybe some of that PIF and CIF money could be given to the fire dept so they don't have to charge us $300 for a non transport? We need the FD and a Police presence. I am sure you don't care. You know what tho? The community does care and they are pissed. Why do you think no one shows up to board meetings and so few showed up for the Mike pizza fest. No numbers even published re the 2nd Mike meeting.

I really wish I could move, but I can't right now. I do admit it was a mistake staying here after my mom died.
