Promoted in the Your Sun City e-blast last week and Nextdoor. Not the best market saturation strategy. Go HERE to review RCSC e-blasts and to sign up to start receiving them:
I went! It was interesting. This month the Dart Club showed up in force and the room was full. Apparently the two big items of concern are the location of the dart boards, and the need to replace some boards. The good news is, Mike (GM) let them know that he had just ordered 5 brand new electronic dart boards. Next: If anybody ever saw the location that they are stuck with, you can't blame them. There right out in the open in front of the doors at the Bell Center Bowling alley and everybody who comes or goes through those door walks right through the gathering of the Dart Club members! I've been up to George's Café on a Monday night when the Dart Club was there and the lanes were full of bowlers....not a good combination! There were a few suggestions made and Mike said he would look into it. Good news is, Mike writes down everybody's comments and actually does look into things. Pizza was good too! Lol! But you better get there early if you want a piece!
Thanks for the response Tom. Interesting on the show of force by members wanting something. I was on the board when the requests came for electronic dartboards. Loved the idea, hated the location for them. In my mind, it made far more sense to take two of the shuffle board courts, wall it off and create their own space at the far end. Maybe even one of the courts would have been enough with its own entrance. All of which begs the larger question: If we had a space allocation committee, would they be able to condense some of those locations with 30% utilization and better create usable space? It's only been 8 years or more calling for that. Crickets baby, crickets. When i think about the electronic dartboards, i find myself wondering, are there other similar types of games that would be attractive for the community? It all fits into the concept of a community center. You know games that are less physically demanding for seniors and that would be attractive to visiting grand children; skeet ball, pin ball, table top shuffle board, there's obviously others. Kudos to Mike for doing this, it bodes well.
