Reminder from the sermon this morning:
    1. Your choices impact others.
    2. Admit when you are wrong.
    3. Take responsibility for your actions.
    4. Be willing to pay the price...and be able to eat humble pie!

image.jpg When I am stressed out, I like to think of myself lying on a beach.

I have one of those sound machines and enjoy the sound of the surf before nodding off. Guided meditations often use the image of a beach too and I can see why.

    Are you a napper?

image.jpg Did you know that some of our most successful people (presidents for sure) are nano nappers? A nano nap is a quick 15-20 minute snooze during the afternoon or any time one needs to nod off. It seems that the older I get the longer my nano naps are getting. Taking a nap is considered to be like unloading the memory in your "computer" brain and will give you a fresh start for the rest of the day. Some days I take several naps -- oh, the joy of being retired.:tranquillity:

    Thought for today:

image.jpg The truth is we can’t control our environment. We can’t control other people and their reactions to us. We can only control how we respond to life.

When we run up against issues we can't control, muster up all your strength in how you will react.

A banner hanging in my house says

"Be of love a little more careful than of everything".

    It's dated 1975 - Cummings

That is excellent. Thanks P. Love to think that love can make all things better!

I am social chairperson for my association and plan a gettogether every 2 months.
Sometimes it is the only time neighbors see neighbors.
This week we had lunch at Lakeview Cafe. Excellent.
They start their dinner menu at 11!
That day is was soup, cole slaw, batterfried cod, & choice of potato.
    I would highly recommend it.
I understand their Sunday breakfasts are good too.

speaking of naps...I always take a nice little 30 minute or less nap on the dance nights---- otherwise I would be somewhat tired out....
I never used to nap -- but I find that a bit of quick shut-eye really improves my mood as well as spirit !

    Are you happy today?

image.jpg Today's message is just a reminder to think about how you spend each day. Have a good one -- might as well be happy!

    I'm still intrigued by
I keep puzzling over it as some sort of koan or something. Mostly it seems a bit of a warning--as though love is something so fragile it may break as with the most delicate of glassware. Or is it like a bomb that requires cautious footsteps lest it detonate? Or is the "careful" more of the being full of care in its nurturing sense, not in a worrisome sense? It is probably all or none to some.

image.jpg What is your passion--something that excites you and makes you happy to face each day? For me, it is being creative with writing and preparing for events. It keeps me thinking!

I like to call that "mind over matter"... if your thoughts are correct -- so would be your actions. :tranquillity:

Do you enjoy traveling, or do you feel as if you are already on vacation?

image.jpg I often say that I feel as if I'm on vacation -- especially while spending time at the Bell Center Pool or by the waterfall at Lakeview. Where are you when you feel as if you are on vacation?

What does it take to make you happy?

image.jpg Funny how I am getting rid of things I once thought made me happy. My children will be grateful some day for thinning out the stuff around the house.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

English translation of French plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

A proverb making the observation that turbulent changes do not affect reality on a deeper level other than to cement the status quo. (Isn't that a mouthful! pegmih)

I have used that proverb on many occasions.

I would have given that post a Like, Gilmark. Too bad this forum does not have a like button...they're always fun.

    Are you in a rut?

image.jpg There are times I feel as if I am stuck in my daily routine. It is when someone calls and says, "Let's meet for lunch." that makes me realize I need to get out of the house. Thanks for interruptions that add to my life experiences.

Are you doing your best today?

image.jpg We are never too old to try to do our best at everything we attempt--even if that means just to relax. I had a friend who once told me (a busy mother trying to fix lunch while she sat and drank coffee at my table) that whatever she chose to do at that moment was what she was content with. Wish I had learned that lesson long ago.
