    Janet and SBB,

Let me try to answer all questions/comments in one post.

Janet - I do not know why the Board was not amenable to having a business case developed for Mountain View, a complete renovation of Quail Run which far exceeds ADWR requirements and as admitted by a board member, does little to address ADWR requirements, a separate PAC and the building of a dog training facility. The minutes from those meetings are not posted on the web. As a member, I would prefer we use our new and greatly improved process on ALL projects and note that we already have potentially saved over $2,000,000 by using the process on a golf course maintenance facility.

SBB - I understand your frustration that Committee Chairs ignore (or overlook) committee recommendations. This is not right. For my money the SOW for the urban planning expert can be as simple as develop a Master Plan by (date) to achieve our Mission, Vision and Value statement taking into account all relevant data. Let the expert explain how they would go about successfully accomplishing this task. Sorry I could not stay for Steve's presentation, but we did win our match and now the Sun City Tennis Team is in the Playoffs (thanks for asking). In my opinion, the presentation recapped a specific group's preferences that may have been discussed over the last six years but did not recap the last six years of discussion. It then used those preferences to propose a plan with estimated costs. Nevertheless, I applaud the effort.

    Hope this helps.

    John

John, thank you for your thoughts on the SOW. I did previously provide you the opportunity to input, however, you had other pressing items going at the time. The first draft turned out just fine.

Again, you weren't at the meeting when the material was presented, so while you can draw your own conclusions from the PPT shared with you, it doesn't align with the purpose of reviewing the information in the LRP meeting. There was NO new recommendation to be pursued. Tri-Arc is doing that if you recall the Board's direction. Why didn’t you ask questions when you received the PPT, instead of concluding that Steve was only selfishly promoting another Mt. View agenda – not the case at all and it’s offensive to him. He was asked to pull that info together relative to his 6 years of remembrance.

I didn't ask about your tennis playoff as I didn't know you were playing or for that matter that there even was a tennis playoff. So, not sure why the snide remark. Congratulations on your win. Maybe when I'm done focusing on the needs for the annual meeting and the importance of LRP committee at this point in time - I'll get to get out to enjoy some activities.

Janet – Just fyi – BP16 has potentially saved $3.8M on the golf course maintenance facility. It is true and we don’t understand why the four Holy Grail projects as I call them (Mt. View, PAC, Quail Run and BFDC) can’t go through BP16, it was a directive of the Chair at the time due to the projects already being “approved” by the Board. Hence, why I now call them the “Holy Grail Projects”. I tried at a Board /Exchange meeting last year to get Quail Run through the process. Rejected.

Fortunately mine have increased there, too. However I expect a correction anytime. Of course some people will blame that on Trump. My toast burned today so I think it was his fault!

SBB - Take it easy please. I appreciate your efforts even though we often disagree. The presentation was labeled Mtn. View. Feb 2025 recommendations. Slide 7 has one option listed. If, I jumped to conclusions it was based on this. Sorry I could not stay for the presentation. I am concerned about not having a master plan and all the crisis and chaos it has created. I don't understand the open invitation to join the LRP although I am a firm believer in term limits but am realistic enough to know that term limits will never happen. I abide by the National Civic League moto - There is nothing we cannot accomplish if we work together. The "we" for us is management and members. I hope you do get to enjoy some activities...
