"Trump is no fan of Fox news."
So now we find, "As President-elect Donald Trump has moved to rapidly fill out his Cabinet, he has tapped several television fixtures for key administration jobs — including four former Fox News employees."
How foolish was it? His lies prompted 75 million Americans to vote for him.

I'm not in favor of increasing the debt regardless which Party supports doing so. In fact, it won't hurt my feelings if the governments shuts downs. It's time they stop with the continuing resolutions and actually do their job.
It's Elon, not Leon! And it's my understanding that the things DOGE is finding will not be addressed until July 2026. Only Trump can decide which of the recommended cuts he will make.
I never heard that as a promise. I think they should consider eliminating the tax on unemployment insurance. That makes more sense to me. Think about it; if you 're required file for and collect unemployment insurance, you probably need every dollar you get. Does it make sense to send you financial aid then turn around and tax you on it?
The President cannot make tax laws, that's congress' job. The President can only influence those laws with executive orders but he must work with Congress.
We have yet to see what will happen with the threat of tariffs. It's quite possible that some of the tariffs that are currently imposed on the U.S. will actually come down so that they become equal.

Believe what you want but at least give the guy a chance. It's been less than 6 weeks since he was inaugurated. Biden had four years to destroy America and it can't be fixed in 6 weeks!

I hope I've answered all your questions. And as always, it's just my opinion.

Just found, but not on wikipedia:
"On Saturday, Trump urged Musk to be “more aggressive” in cutting the government, although the White House has told a court that Musk has no authority and is only a presidential advisor. “Will do, Mr. President,” Musk replied. He then posted a command to federal employees: “Consistent with [Trump’s] instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” Shortly after, emails went out giving workers 48 hours to list five things they had accomplished in the past week.

This sparked outrage among Americans who noted that Musk has spent 24 hours tweeting more than 220 times and engaged in public fights with two of the mothers of his children while allegedly running companies and overhauling the government, while Trump spent at least 12 nights at Mar-a-Lago in his first 29 days in office. S.V. Date of HuffPost noted on February 18 that Trump has played golf at one of his own properties on 9 of his first 30 days in office and that Trump’s golf outings had already cost the American taxpayer $10.7 million. (which is a little more than a $1,000,000 an outing. Makes SC golf look pretty cheap.)

Reddit was flooded with potential responses to Musk’s demand, scorching it and Musk. The demand also exposed a rift in the administration, as department heads—including Kash Patel, the newly confirmed head of the FBI, as well as officials at the State Department, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of the Navy—asserted their authority to review the workers in their own departments, telling them not to respond to Musk’s demand."

So what is a worker to do? DOGE tells them to respond, his boss tells him not to.

Trump is the ONLY presidential candidate in the history of elections to use the phrase "On Day One".

And some of those Fox News Employees have far more impressive resume's and experience than those in the Biden administration.

Sam Brinton Dept of Energy and steals luggage
Pete Buttigieg Dept of Transportation (Pothole Pete)

Are you comparing those DEI hires against Pete Hegseth?, Princeton graduate (BA) Harvard graduate (MPP), Iraq War veteran, War in Afghanistan veteran, Bronze Star, Joint Service Commendation Medal, (2) Army Commendation Medals, Combat Infantry Badge, but he's not qualified to be Secretary of Defence?

You must have missed trump's promise to seniors to cut taxes on social security Tom. Rather than debate it, here's the first three paragraphs from Kiplinger and the related link to the article:
"President Donald Trump has affirmed his vow to repeal taxes on Social Security benefits, an election campaign pledge some experts say could cause more harm to the program than good.

About 67 million U.S. households receive monthly benefit checks from the retirement and disability program. Currently, up to 85% of Social Security benefits can be subject to federal tax, depending on a taxpayer’s combined income.

But with poverty rates among older adults and people with disabilities on the rise, people wonder who this proposed tax cut would help, given that Social Security recipients with low incomes already don’t pay taxes on their benefits."

Here's the link to the article.

Like I said Bill, he's been in office for about 6 weeks. Rome wasn't built in a day!

But wouldn't be nice if Trump could Make America Great Again as fast as Biden totally destroyed it?

I suppose you approved of Biden's open borders and the Dem's desire to pack the Supreme Court and eliminate the Electoral College? Those are the things your party believes in! And it seems your party has no idea that they are the ones creating a Constitutional crises.

Wow Tom...just wow. So i filled you in on the massive tax cuts seniors will get from trump's campaign promise regarding social security; would you extend me the same courtesy and show me the links where Biden/D's packed the Supreme Court and when they eliminated the Electoral College?

I'll patiently wait by my computer while you dig up those links.

    Thanks, Bill.

You have a lot of nerve dishing on Trump vs Biden's days at the beach, not holding press conferences, shaking hands of people that were not there. Ant then we have Slick Willy who totally disrespected the Oval Office using it as his sexual playground. What was up with those cigars???

How did all that JOY BABY JOY work out for you. I think I will take a wait and see attitude and get back with you.

Remember when you posted this Bill? After 90 minutes of relentless flatulence, the former president departed the stage, leaving behind a massive amount of fecal matter.

I just saw this and thought of you:

Weak people are always loud when you're losing but watch how they whisper when you win.

Bill, Bill, Bill. I never said they did those things I was only pointing out that those are things your party is wanting to do, and why? Because if they pack the court with more progressives they win more of their decisions. You didn't hear them complaining when the court leaned Left.

And why eliminate the Electoral College? So those hub cities that are over populated with Democrats would win the election.

I think you will find that, any more, there are more Democat cities than States.

You know all that's true Bill. It just disappoints me you won't fess up.

So no it never happened, never even an issue raised by anyone that gave it a passing glance; but there you go, making far out statements about democrats. Here's one thing i believe in; how about you? "Equality for all."

I only ask because one of trump's recent appointees, Darren Beattie, who was named as the acting undersecretary for public affairs and public diplomacy just last October shared these remarks with the free world: "In a post last October, Beattie wrote that America's national ideology is based on "coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent white men" and that "Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work."

Just curious Tom, are you all in on competent white men being in charge?

I am for equal opportunity for all, not equal outcome for all!

You shouldn't be eligible for certain things just because of your ethnicity, intersectionality, or DEI. I am 100% in favor of meritocracy.

OK, I hurt your feelings, so take a crack at the part of the Constitution I am talking about. I gave you a clue, now run with it.

FYI, he said he was going to lower prices, lick inflation on the first day. Today, 2/24/25, trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt stated that the administration has no timetable for lowering prices. Looks like the Prez needs a January 20 Groundhog Day to make this work.
I am sorry but I couldn’t pass up this latest tidbit from favorite blithering idiot economist, Peter Navarro, who has stated that Americans will be happy with Trump’s Tariff Policy. He must have stood outside the Wharton School of Business just like the Prez since neither seem to know how a tariff works or they are lying.

Good thing you cleaned up that little mistake J, always embarrassing when you don't know who your guy promoted.

Anyway how about the chutzpah of the Zelensky guy starting the war with Russia?

I look around and I do not see an America "totally destroyed."
And yes, history confirms that Rome was not built in a day but it was destroyed a lot faster than it was built, and I believe that this is what we are looking at now. American Democracy being Destroyed. The Roman Republic was replaced by the Roman Empire. This is what Trump and his crew and attempting to do to America now. Replace our Republic with an empire.
