Hi folks, I had an idea for a possible event that could be put together for the locals that might be fun. I thought it might be fun to have a food truck gathering with several offerings right here in Sun City. There are over 28 pages of food truck vendors listed in Maricopa County with a plethora of choices. There is Mexican, pizza, chicken and some of the usuals that come to mind. But there is also creole, Chinese, hot and cold sandwiches, coffee, ice cream, I think it’s obvious there are a lot of options. With enough advanced advertising this could be a gastronomical event available right here in Sun City. The location that comes to mind is the southeast parking lot at 107th and Peoria Avenue. The Lutheran thrift shop is the anchor store at the location I am thinking about. I realize this is a wild and crazy idea, but it could be a unique experience to get together, enjoy a bite to eat, and maybe even meet some new friends. If this is just too far out of the ordinary, I understand. Setting up for about 3-4 hours, offering a small seating area, just saying hi may be too much to expect. I attached a poll to offer the opportunity to cast a vote for or against the idea. I have only done rudimentary research, nothing set in motion to proceed, just curious if a community gathering featuring food sounded like something we could possibly do.
Can't say yes or no. A gathering would be fun, but personally I don't eat from food trucks. Would the members pay for the trucks to come out, or would RCSC pay with any food purchases by members be profit. The only time I have been involved with anything like this annual company event paid for professional BBQ folks to come out and an ice cream truck. They grilled under a big tent and food and music free to employees.
YES, I think food truck events in neighborhoods would be a great thing to try! Not everyone is comfortable at BIG events. Food Truck Festival last summer drew several hundred attendees, not all purchased food. – 426 Meals Sold It was part of the first ever Sundial Center Summer 2024 Series Hot Fun “Outta the Sun” What To Eat Wednesday Food Truck Festival Wednesday, June 5, 4:30pm to 7:30pm Free for RCSC Members/Cardholders & their Escorted Guests. ❗️❗️Member has posted this great update, “ Sundial clubs such as Handweavers and Spinners will have open house/sales during the Food Truck Festival.”
Thank you for the update on future events for food trucks. I truly appreciate the information. As far as planning any additional events with food trucks, I will definitely keep an open mind.
