I can't tell you how many times I've heard a story like this, and another just surfaced today. Either somebody had their golf cart stolen or their car was damaged on RCSC property and when the owners go to the corporate office and asked to see the video from the security camera, guess what? Those cameras don't record!!!! Gee, do you think the RCSC might be able to reduce their insurance rates if they had cameras that actually did what they're supposed to do? Is it just me?????
I have heard the same from several people. They are there for "show" and are supposed to act as a deterrent. A thief would spot the difference in a second. The fake ones have 'tells'.
Well after someone asked me about this I called RCSC. The receptionist said no they could not, after a few more questions she transferred me. After much digging with the second person they will not provide video to the person who had the accident, only to insurance company or MCSO. So now I am very confused. It took forever to drag that out of her. I will leave it up to you to decide.
