Readers, I have been contacted by numerous folks regarding the recall of Directors. First, based on my knowledge of the Bylaws I need to point out that I believe the member's only effective way to change the course of any board that is not serving the needs of the majority of members is to seek a recall of some or all of the Directors. As far as governance is concerned RCSC members have the right to elect and recall board members. I met with the members who initiated the recall and listened very carefully to their position. I found it all very reasonable and grounded in fact. Remember, these members are not lawn bowlers and have never been very active in Sun City Governance. And, of course, the lawn bowlers would jump on board. So, what is the reason for many members to seek a recall election: The Board and management lacks integrity and has pursued their own personal agendas. There is abundant evidence to support their claim. So what? As one current Board member said to me, the bylaws say the Board can do whatever they want to (and the members are powerless to stop it - my words). Unfortunately, that is the way it works. After due consideration, I am in support of the recall of some but not all directors. That may change if the Board proceeds to spend significant moneys on architects without a well vetted and communicated master plan. I support the recall of Director Borski and Director Richtmyer. I feel both have an agenda and neither will listen to understand concerns or understand the data. Instead, in my opinion, all they do is listen to respond and defend. Director Borski has made clear from the beginning she is going to do all she can to get the Player's club the theater they were promised 59 years ago. Director Richtmyer recently went so far as to falsely claim the corporate documents required Sun City to build a theater. I know how hard it is to be on the board and to remain objective. It appears to me that neither of these individuals ever intended to be objective and make data-based decisions. And it really appears that they are willing to negligently make uninformed public claims about how much a master plan would cost and the delay it would entail. Folks, I made a motion that was passed that required the GM to have a draft comprehensive master plan prepared for member review by March, 2024. He ignored the motion. Subordination is simply not tolerable. The hurdles for a recall are incredibly high but some mountains are worth climbing. Best Regards and God Bless, John Fast
I get the impression that the BOD and RCSC management do want to complete strategic long term planning, but first want to secure funding for a variety of “pet” projects(not just an indoor dog facility, before the new board begins it’s work. And heaven forbid anyone bring attention to the amount of money earmarked for golf (directly or indirectly). I need to total this amount one of these days. Is it all really necessary?
Wondering…credible, verifiable answer preferred, thanks. How is there any way for this recall of the 2024 nine board directors to be achieved before the 2025 RCSC Board is seated January 1st, 2025? ❓Recall petitions submitted and signatures verified for all directors serving on the 2024 Board. Then the existing 2024 has an approval process❓ How long to be completed? Before January 1, 2025? Up to FIVE NEW Directors • Elected - Tuesday December 10th • Installed - Thursday, December 19th • Term begins - Wednesday, January 1st (*candidates must have minimum of 100 votes to be elected) If it goes through the process and 2024 directors are elected to serve 2025 board, they are no longer 2024 directors. Correct? If fewer than five candidates are elected, vacant director positions will be * appointed * by the existing board directors until there’s an election? You raise interesting questions and I guess it boils down to whether the recall applies to the Director or the remaining term of the directors in question.

I know at least one golfer who does not believe the state mandates will be enforced, as the mandates will cause tourism to suffer too much.
Even if that is true, RCSC and the other entities owning golf courses should do their best to reduce water consumption. I'm not a tree hugger, but I think it's the prudent thing to do considering the water shortages and the expense of watering roughs on golf courses. If not today, when?
Tom, be sure to include these golf projects: • North Maintenance Cart Barn $3,000,000 • Quail Run Maintenance Bldg. $2,000,000 • Riverview Maintenance Bldg. $4,000,000 (2025 - $1,500,000 2026 - $2,500,000)
I found myself clicking "Like" to your answer to my question, but . . . . . ........... i don't really like it.
This was a response to Tom T, not yours.. You can unlike the post by tapping like… poof, it’s gone! Sorry, if you don’t like the content… nothing I can do.
I was "liking" the fact that you responded and meant to say that I did NOT like the idea that we might spend that much money on golf. Please try to not view everything I might say as an attack. Or whatever.
Why would this board ignore the fact that members don't want a PAC sitting in front of our lake. They can still build the PAC, but they have to look at other locales.
Because this, as with most things, it is a vocal minority that are against it. I doubt if most even care if it's on the lake, at Mountain View, or if we have a PAC at all.
I don't think the word actually gets out to the residents. The BOD and GM are not exactly transparent, i.e. libraries. After the Putman's wrote the article for the Independent a lot of folks showed up at the last meeting. Now they are collecting signatures today at Lakeview. I guess we'll find out if they get the required 3,000.
That's one big problem we have here in Sun City. COMMUNICATION. How does one get a message out to as many of the Members as possible? The Email blasts reach anywhere from 10-12,000. The Independent is thrown free to homeowners but not all homeowners know that they have to call to get it. And not all read it. Facebook has about 5 groups that can discuss it. NextDoor has two groups pertinent to our Sun City. TOSC - I have no idea how many people really read this. And a lot of people either just don't care or have already encountered an issue with the Board/Management and have said, "not again."
