Sun City Foundation - New Board Members

Without knowing the others side of the story I figure that it is not qualifications but their agenda that they figure you two have not met.

I believe that's exactly why Janet and Linda weren't initially accepted. They would have exposed just how little the current board knows about running a Foundation and applying for grants.

 

Off topic. History is what it is; Try and rewrite it. not gonna happen. You all made all of sun city suck. geez Bill it was great till you got oy the board. thanks a bunch. All neighbors gave up after you showed up

 

There's no need for anyone to rewrite Sun City's history, the reality is our story is powerful, compelling and unique. From the day we opened till this very day, we have had an evolving and ever changing dynamic. The die was cast once the decision was made not to incorporate. And best of all, that choice was made by the majority of those living here.

The beauty of our community, the one that most of us love, is that each of us can bring something to the table. For most, it's small interactions on levels barely visible to those not involved. Scores of others have played bigger roles, accepted more responsibility, elected to put themselves in front or their peers and at time been criticized for their efforts. I disagreed with board members i served with, but i always understood how the system worked, the majority ruled.

It's how we were built and why it has worked for nearly 65 years. It's why we will still be going strong for another 65 years, long after all of us are dead and buried. Here's the final piece of the puzzle that has always fit in place making us a completed picture: Whiners. moaners and criers have always existed in small numbers and the sum total of what they have added to Sun City's success has been nothing. They simply suck the oxygen out of the room while those of us who love the community endure and enhance the Sun City way of life.

Life is way too short to let those who hate everything have any impact on those of us who see what we have right in front of us.

Enjoy it, savor it and own it.
