That's because congress never "borrows" from one agency to give to another, right Dave. How many times was SSI "borrowed" from? So you don't think FEMA funds went to Ukraine??

When the government borrows from one agency to another, it's called intragovernmental debt. This type of debt has no impact on the government's overall finances because it's a transfer between parts of the government. As of December 2023, intragovernmental debt was $7 trillion.

Here are some other ways the government borrows money:
    • Borrowing authority
This budget authority allows agencies to make payments and incur obligations using borrowed funds. It can be indefinite or definite.
    • Borrowing from the Treasury
This is when the government borrows funds from the sale of Treasury securities.
    • Borrowing from the Federal Financing Bank (FFB)
This is when the government borrows from the FFB instead of the Treasury or selling securities to the public.
The Federal Investments and Borrowings Branch (FIBB) keeps track of loan transactions between the Treasury and other federal agencies.

Just freaking DUH!. I know data is confusing when you are used to clicking on X and that is your source, but the reality of this accumulation of information was gathered from each individual state's filings. Here's a really important tip for those pretending none of this matters: Red states are typically governed by a republican and if on the rare chance a democrat makes it to the top, the rest of governance is top heavy with republicans...hence the term RED STATE.

So with that silliness out of the way, those red states stats are included and it would be safe to conclude the data they had collected would be rife with cheaters (all democrats if it makes you feel better even if it's not true). I honestly don't care which party did it; i have always been a believer in the data driving the narrative.

Let's start with this easy to follow summary:
    Voter & Election Fraud

Through our own research and using two publicly available databases, Hearst Television's National Investigative Unit identified 410 instances since 2016 where some level of voter or election fraud led to a criminal conviction or court action.

96% of those instances involved people committing crimes -- from registering fraudulently but never voting, to criminal conduct at the ballot box.

410 instances since 2016. That's through 2024 when the report was done.

Thanks JP, you have no idea the joy in my heart from us coming together on important issues like voter fraud. Common ground indeed.

Continuing on with this Public Service Announcement, this next segment is important to help voters understand what constitutes voter fraud.
    What Is Voter Fraud?

Voter fraud and election fraud are generally defined as the illegal interference with an election to manipulate the outcome.

While election fraud encompasses many types of fraud related to the election and voting process, voter fraud often specifically involves the actions of individuals tied to voter registration or the act of voting.

Depending on the method of fraud and the election(s) involved, these crimes could be prosecuted at the local, county, state, or federal level.

Federal election crimes fall into three categories:

    Voter, Ballot or Registration Fraud
    • When someone votes more than once, like voting by mail and in person or casting a vote for a deceased person
    • Getting money or something of value in exchange for your vote
    • Giving false information when registering to vote
    Campaign Finance Crimes
    • When candidates accept funds that violate the amounts permitted by law
    • A donor promises other donors to reimburse money that’s donated to a candidate
    Civil Rights Violations
    • When someone threatens a voter with physical or economic harm unless they vote in a certain way
    • Schemes that prevent legal voters from getting to the polls or casting their ballots in an election

Really really good stuff because no one on either side of the aisle wants fraudulent votes. Knowing there has been so little is great news for all of us.

Good site; lots of data and when i sifted through just AZ results, they listed 20 cases. Several of the 2016 cases were actually from the 2012 election. The Hearst site data was for cases from 2016-2024. All in all, very close with Hearst reporting 18 cases and Heritage showing 20 including the 2012 election violations.

The reason the Heritage numbers are far larger is obvious once looking more closely. They go back much further. The other interesting note in reading the AZ cases was there were both republicans listed (usually for voting for a dead relative) and Latino's (one could assume Democrats but they didn't list them as such), that had "harvested " votes for other than family members. Then of course there were those who had lost their voting rights with felony convictions and then voted anyway (no party designation listed).

All in all, it confirms my long held opinion; data matters.

Spare me Tom, that data goes back over 20 years. I know you don't want to hear or believe it but it's the reality of years of flawed immigration policy.

It's too bad the republicans had no interest in solving the immigration issues over the years (the employers loved the cheap labor keeping their costs down). This "crisis" could have should have been resolved when the Gang of Eight found a compromise resolution but Boehner killed it. Which says nothing of your buddy trump who told the fools in the house not to pass the compromise bill this year,

    Real crisis there bro.

Besides, we're all still waiting for Mexico to cough up their share for the 20 miles of wall trump built. At least of what's left standing. Seems some of just fell over. What was the square foot cost for the section that was built? Never mind, i'll find it tomorrow.

Yeah, but it's still happening today even more severe than in the past and the Biden administration has done nothing to close the border.

And the Bill the Left keeps accusing the Republican of not voting for would do very little about closing the border and only provide more agents, not to prevent the illegals from coming, but only to help do paperwork and babysit!

But you still didn't answer the question.

Dumb and Dumber have already destroyed it. Watching a docu about the 320,000 missing migrant kids. Sex trafficking. Makes me sick to my stomach. 11 million illegals since Biden. No help for flood victims. but by God those illegals get housing! Well if Heels up Harris wins we can all rest assured there will be a self-professed knucklehead as 2nd in command.

That's just BS Tom and you know border crossing are way down. Biden took the action to restrict crossings even though trump told his minions to vote no on Lankford's bill. By the way, some of those "criminals" crossed the border under trump's watch. How many? No one knows which is why the challenge is so difficult when you are tracking 20 years of border abuse under 4 different presidents.

We'll get to the rest of your nonsense in a second, hang on.
