FYI, I'll give you that the Trump name was a sought after brand. I worked on both Wall Street and on Park Ave -- I didn't find he was given more than lip service respect, but businessmen didn't want him as an enemy, either. The Banks loaned him money with the knowledge they might not get paid back -- but they did so anyway to use the Trump name as a client reference. And you're right, some businesses were not for the weak in NYC. Ultimately, it seemed to me trump's star started to fade after he stuck his casino partners with his losses in Atlantic City bankruptcies and word spread. The Apprentice TV show, which was scripted, portrayed him to be a real estate tycoon -- sufficiently so that people believed was true. And, he was paid nearly $500 million which bailed him out after his bankruptcies.

I have a good friend who has voted for Trump twice and probably will a third time. They strongly urged me to read his "Art of the Deal", the book had first turned them into Trumpers decades ago, So I went to the Library book store and picked up a hard cover copy or $2. Give or take. I started reading it. On page 45 Trump gives his family history, and I quote, "His (Trump's father) father came from Sweden as a child" and....... I paused because I was pretty sure that Trump was of German extraction, so I looked it up. Yes, Fred was "born in the Bronx to German immigrants." So I had to ask myself, "What is the value of reading a non-fiction book by someone who is lying about this sort of thing? Being of German background is nothing to be ashamed of, let it be known that my ancestor, the widow Smyser arrived in America in something like 1722 with her four sons." I later read Trump's explanation of that statement, which was something like, "I was working with a lot of Jewish people at that time and they did not like Germans. " Okay, that was a choice he made, but to me, a lie is a lie. But I did go on and finish the book, it was just difficult to believe anything he said after that. Time has not softened my view.

I guess it's how a person wants to identify themselves. Kamala decided to be Indian when necessary and now she's black because it will help her election. Elizabeth Warren was a beer drinking American Indian. Kamala is now a proven debate liar, however you focus on a book written in 1987.

Also you took the time to find where his parents were born, but did you take the time to find out why it was said? I did that for you. Liberals use any port in the storm to support ruining this country. Vote for the two baby killers who will take your guns. Kamala's father was a Marxist teacher. If she wins (and it very well could happen because people have never lived in a socialist country, and those that do flee to America) you just enjoy your socialism/Marxism.

My fathers parents came from Poland. My maiden name had 11 letters and ended with ski. All but 3 changed their last name. You were not alive during that time. You don't know what the boomer's grandparents went thru. Hell I wish I could remember all the Polish jokes I heard growing up and in high school. nobody took it seriously in my generation, however the "Lost Generation" did.

Don't you ever get tired of talking trash?

You are missing the point. NONE should have, nor should it have been paid for by the taxpayers.

I suppose under the Tim Walz bill you are good with the 24 botched late term abortions where breathing alive babies were put aside with "comfort care" till they died. Wonder if "comfort care" for adults in hospice is the same for babies?

There's hundred's of good reasons to not vote for trump ever again. I won't waste my time on the minutia, let's get straight to the heart of why all you "true American's" are so far removed from reality. On a historical level, most of us would agree 9/11 was the worst day in our lives. The second worst day for those of us willing to be honest was January 6.

We all watched it live in living color. Anyone with a half a brain or an emotional shred of decency were badly rattled. Pretending it wasn't horrific, or spewing it was just another tour at the white house is delusional. The ugliness we all watched should have left you shattered as an American who loves their country.

Here's just one of thousands of videos.

None of them are pretty, all gruesome and telling. The other night at the debate, trump was asked if he regretted anything about that day? Nope he smugly told us; "i just gave a speech." More bullshit from the guy who wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in the ass. He called them there and he sent them off to do his bidding.

And then he watched in glee as they destroyed our house; the one building the best symbolizes us as a nation.

But let's get real and get to the heart of the matter. The point wasn't beating police officers, or scaling the walls or smearing shit all over, or even hanging vice president Mike Pence. The point was to disturb the LEGAL and RIGHTFUL transfer of power with the FAKE ELECTOR SCHEME.

The poor pathetic little man could not accept more people hated him than loved him. He lost the election and not by just a whisker. He has lied to all of you about that election and he continues to lie about it. Every state that was close has done recount after recount...not one found any issues that would affect the outcome.

Sorry, just the reality we all need live with.

And, that is why no one in their right mind should be voting for a man who unleashed January 6 on all of us.

Of course this is just one man's (plus 81 million voters) opinion.

Perhaps that's your reality, it certainty isn't mine or for many Americans.

My reality is Bidenomics, $4 dollar gasoline, 20% more for groceries, millions of illegal aliens, and an overall increase in inflation to almost 20% since Bidenomics began.

It's quite obvious they don't understand the difference between socialist/Marxist/communistic governments and a constitutional republic. If they did they might question why 8 or 9 million people have come to our country under the biden administration from those types of government run countries. Now we all are feeling the effects of open borders. It;s a sad day when in this country going to the grocery store means putting food in your cart, and before going to check out you look to see what can I do without. Maybe big ole union bosses don't have to do that, but I sure do!

Well God is in control, not anyone else. He will let these folks decide their own eternity. Vote for the full term abortion baby killers. defund the police. release violent criminals from jail and keep letting unknown people come into our country, murdering our citizens.

Yes Bill, the 2nd worse because only 1 American citizen died. Hundreds were not left behind, 6 were not shot in the back of the head execution style.
The burning of Minneapolis was just a little prank.
The 13 Men, Women, and Children Whose Lives Were Cut Short by Illegal Immigrants in Past Year (Posted on Monday, July 8, 2024) was just plain silliness. (see above)
The left blasting crap about Trump probably had nothing to do with the assassination attempt. Maxine Watters calling for violence against Trump supporters was cute.
The attempts on Judge Kavanaugh's and Tucker Carlson's family were silly.

Over 160 Confederate monuments and memorials have been removed from public spaces in the United States, with most of them removed since 2015. A Southern Poverty Law Center survey found that 94 Confederate monuments were removed in 2020, almost all in response to the killing of George Floyd, but that was ok.

Jesus Christ Bill! Pull your head out of your sand. Do you ever live in the present. Are you even aware of what is happening in today's world or are you just sucked into a vortex of living in the past?

and btw here is some CURRENT info.

Well actually I started that because I was copying Trump. If he could do I could it unless you are saying he has a kindergarten mentality, which I wouldn’t argue. As for the Charlottesville/ good Nazi thing I saw LIVE on TV in the front of the elevators in Trump Tower NYC. Please don’t give me the who are you going to believe Breitbart News or your eyes and ears. I stand by this. Good enough for you?

I don’t and never had Trump Derangement Syndrome any more than you have liberal derangement syndrome. I think he is patently unqualified to hold the highest office in the land because he doesn’t know anything, cue his continued statement that the exporters pay the tariff. I learned in 6th Grade Social Studies about tariffs and it was explained in depth in 7th Grade Social Studies and High School history and government. For a person who graduated from Wharton @UPenn, he is in a word, an idiot. When he was president, I accepted him as a duly elected president, didn’t like him but he was my president. Polite enough for you?

Oh come now, surely you jest. What makes Jan 6th a bad day for “them” is that it failed. Their attempt to introduce 9 (I think it was) Republican electors from Arizona (thanks Lesko) and for some other states to swing the Electoral College (one of the Republican Party’s always last hopes) failed, the Pence Plan failed. A bad day indeed.

Please! First of all, he didn't say what you believe he said and second, he didn't say it "in the front of the elevators in Trump Tower NYC." Actually it's not an elevator, it was an escalator in Trump Towers. Get your facts straight!

This is what was actually said and the part the media likes to not tell you!

"You also had some very fine people on both sides," Trump said in 2017. "You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down, of to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name. You had people -- and I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists; they should be condemned totally -- you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists."

And as far as that statement disparaging veterans that Trump supposedly made goes; Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump's White House Press Secretary was in the room when that comment was supposedly made, and she says it never happened!

But wait!!!! She's a Republican so I guess we can't believe anything she says!!!!!

Tariffs? If you have the right policies and incentives on business' and corporations in place, tariffs can be an incentive to bring manufacturing back to the United States which creates jobs, expands our own tax base as well as a boost to many small Mom & Pop businesses' who have those new employees as customers.

Maybe we should keep on buying many of our essential supplies from overseas and China so when the time comes that we, God forbid, get into another war, we can ask China to sell us what we need?
