Your concern for the taxpayers of California is commendable but it seems that this decision was not one Harris made. "The decision to pay for the surgery resolved a lawsuit filed on Quine’s behalf by the Transgender Law Center, which argued that denying the procedure would violate the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment." A lawsuit that likely would cost more than the surgery.

Janet, I spoke you about transgenders in your house a couple of years ago. You knew nothing about them then and you know even less now other trying to marginalize them because it’s Orange Jesus thing to do. Assuming you are a Christian, what kind of Christian are you to quietly advocate hate? These are citizens of our country just like you and me, but I don’t see them insult you or any of your ilk. People are leaving the church in droves and you want to know why, look in a mirror and see why. I personally left on Easter Sunday, 1965 when a few women who were pillars of the church said things that were shocking to me and everything I was taught. Told my parents I was done with the church, told them why and they supported me immediately. I have never regretted my decision. I hope you are not offended, but I did have to speak to this.

Give it a rest Dave. You advocate hate on so many subjects, directed at so many people every damn day. I am going to fact check you statement because I think it was her doing. And speaking of hate wonder how SC residents would feel about the public opinion of christine pizza or whatever the name is. Calling Big Bird!!!

Sorry but you are wrong, very wrong. Even that alleged Afghanistan withdrawal show a few weeks was made up. Trying to believe that out of the blue families contact Trump for a wreath laying, cameras just happened to be there, a couple of torpedoes from his campaign strong arm a woman just doing her job and the Rumpster’s spokesman said she was having a mental health episode. Then after a few changes in the story Trump said Harris made it up. Sorry little lady but my bullshit doctor was in the red zone from the very start of this charade. A third anniversary memorial, were was the first and second anniversaries?

Let me rephrase the hate thing. You are the Master Hater. And it sure is odd that all who responded to Christine called her Dave. Even the person who never saw the post before said if that's Dave........... Maybe members would like to know how they are thought of. Doubt the committee reference, died in 1431, italian-french writer. Makes one wonder. A little like Geoffrey of Villehardouin, died in 1213. french historian

First of all that's more BS! More of your Trump Derangement Syndrome! Another Charlottesville comment that has been proven fake news.

But my god Dave! You try to come across as some intellectually worldly person, but yet it seems you can't respectfully reply to anything without calling somebody some made-up kindergarten name!

Why can't you simply defend your position respectfully without all the adjectives and made-up names?

I'll tell you why! You're an angry person suffering with your own imagined self aggrandizement and when someone shows you the facts that contradict your own warped beliefs, you flip-out and call people names!

After his derogatory post about the people of SC being obtuse, and much, much, more my feeling is he should be removed from serving on the current committee and be prevented from ever holding another position for RCSC and SC and HOA. He is not fit to even volunteer at a rec center.

Interesting. Wonder what will happen. Mark Penn, past advisor to the Clinton's just tweeted this. https://x.com/Mark_Penn/status/1833926090399907876

Supposedly an ABC whistleblower signed an affidavit that Kamala received questions prior to the debate. Sound familiar???? Donna Brazile???? It was also supposedly agreed that Kamala would not be fact checked, they sure did hold true to that. Let's see how this plays out.

First, the Oprah reference was from 25-years -- Oprah said something like 'too bad we're not running for office' in a thank you note she sent him for sending her a copy of his book "The America We Deserve" -- probably hoping she'd recommend it on her reading list. I don't recall Trump talking seriously about running for pres til much later, sometime during the Obama years. So I don't think Oprah ever supported him for president, even when he was a Democrat.

Second, I lived in the NY metro area from the late 60's until the early 90's -- Trump was mostly sought after because of his social "stardom" as he hobnobbed with the NYC movers and shakers at Studio 54 etc.. His dad spent a lot of money on/for him on his real-estate whims and had his lawyer get him out of legal jams. Businesses wanted to do business with his dad, and later Donald after his dad passed. They both were "friendly" with the mob. So naturally there was plenty of press and Donald was always marketing his achievements even when they were untrue. The big problem was he almost never his bills -- suppliers/contractors had to sue him. He was often almost running a ponzie scheme, and often landed in bankruptcy court. His word meant very little to much of the business world and thousands had to sue him to get even partial payments.

Dave, I don't remember that conversation. I thought we were discussing RCSC bylaws. I am an agnostic not a religious zealot. Although I was raised in a protestant church, I have not attended church much since my high school years. I found my spirituality through Al Anon and it took me a long time to accept a Higher Power. I read AlAnon literature as opposed to scripture. I do pray when I feel it appropriate.

I just reread my post regarding transgender surgeries for inmates. I didn't insult any religion. In fact religion isn't even mentioned. Here is what I said about a video clip where Kamala Harris was talking about getting gender changing surgery for inmates in CA prisons. I don't think she even mentioned religion.:

"This should be repeated and repeated until the election. When someone is incarcerated, the jail/prison is responsible for the inmates' medical expenses. Therefore Kamala made sure any inmates in CA who desires transgender surgery, the taxpayers will have to pay for it. I don't think most Americas approve of this."

Am I offended? More confused than anything else. Perhaps you have me mixed up with someone else.

Kamala is a Marxist, period. Was just reading about The Olive Branch going to 3 days. Not enough food/volunteers to keep it open 5 days. Lines for food are longer than ever. Our country is slowly going to hell. Want to be in that line? Vote Kamala. I don't care how much people hate Trump, and truthfully, I don't know why. His harsh way of speaking? We have much worse right here. The economy was better under Trump. Elect Harris/Walz and watch the country burn just like Minneapolis did.

I was born and raised in New Jersey so I too am very familiar with Trump.

Dare I say that's how business' were and are run. Trump was not an exception as to how he dealt with contractors, vendors, Union's and the mob.

Think what you like about Trump the man. My issue isn't really about him, it's about his policies.

Besides, I still contend he was famous and sought after until he came down the escalator in Trump Towers in 2015 to proclaim he will be running for the presidency. That suddenly turned everybody against him. Prior to that everybody wanted him to attend their events including Chelsea Clinton's wedding.

I am not your little lady, cupcake or any other derogatory term woman haters use. I asked you several times to stop. Done now. So are you one of those guys that thinks no does not mean no?

Look familiar Dave? Or should I say Christine?

    Christine de Pizan

The financial institution holding the reverse mortgage would have to go to court and foreclose on the property. They would have secure documents where any and all heirs ( if applicable) sign away their rights to the property. Once the court enters an order awarding the financial institution they now become the deeded owner in which they would have to pay PIF, CIF, transfer fee and rec fees. They would then put the property for sale and new owner would be responsible for the aforementioned fees at closing.

    Hope that answers your question.

Christine alias Dave W.: Are you absolutely, positive that your answer is correct? We don't want to give out false information. We emailed the Nixon's at their real estate office to see if they had any experience with this type of situation. If we don't hear from them, we will reach out to the Corporate Office.

Any questions about PIF, CIF, etc. and selling of your home deserves the right answer the first time!

    Thank for chiming in, though.

    April 24, 2024 at 8:42 PM

And BTW your statement is completely false. I spoke at length with someone about a reverse mortgage. At first they would not do them in SC due to PIF. Then they changed that rule. I have the paperwork still.

I will be happy to post the other little ditty where you called SC residents obtuse. Maybe in the Independent? Show residents what "people in the know" think of them?? I doubt it would be libel being Ms. Pizan has been DEAD for so long.

When I went searching to try and find out how big of an issue this is I found, "As of December, 20 inmates since 2017 had received gender-affirming surgery. " You can decide how big of a problem that is.
