I don't dispute or disagree with your challenges. I think a lot of folks around here are challenged. I think we need to put our economy and America focused issues first now.
I think things are getting too expensive for everyone, not just retired folks. We have to start improving things right in our own backyard, and pray we get leaders who will do the same for us.
It is not enough for us all to complain on these chat sites, we need to all have a plan to improve our world...even if it is just Sun City.
    Have a great day!

Wasn't 'the dog didn't bark' from “Silver Blaze” which was how Sherlock found who the 'murderer' was?

I think for starters, let's become energy independent. Let us also advance green tech. as well. We should be doing both. Let's make products in America for Americans again.
From our cars to food and clothing...everything. Let's make our own stuff here. Let farmers be successful farmers and grow good food.
Don't tax any seniors who are living on any kind of government income.
Let's clean up America. Let us focus on rebuilding our infrastructures, road, bridges, parks, create new parks, add family friendly amenities, make our country LOOK beautiful.
Let families decide how they want to educate their children and let them pick the school of there choice.
Reward people who work. Maybe give them more tax free incentives and maybe some kind of boost in a 401K system, so people will want to work.
Make businesses stop overcharging for essential items. Help people get a low percentage for first time homebuyers.
But mostly, let's teach dignity and love and respect for one another.
I am no politician, but this is what I am hoping we can do.
    Take care.

I agree with everything you say. The problem is, which I guess I am not expressing very well, there is nothing you or I can do about it. We can vote, but do you really think with the country in its current state will change in our lifetime? I don't, nor will I look at the country with rose colored glasses. You want me to beautify my home. Are you going to give me the $3k or whatever it costs to do it because I don't have it.

You can't snap your fingers and make all your excellent points happen. How are you going to make people in America sew clothing? How are you going to stop the government from the taxes you mention, or make them fix the roads. This administration will not do that. They are too focused on abortion and transgender issues.

How did you like the opening show at the Olympics? Did that reflect the dignity and respect in the world?

In a word, NO. Thou shall take the Lord thy God's name in vain.

EM, you really don’t understand the French and I have some serious questions about them. That said, I immediately realized that display was based on a Dutch painting celebrating Dionysius, the Greek god of wine and celebration. I credit my art history class at the uni and visiting art museums in The Netherlands and various cities in Europe.

Please explain to me why everything has to be about Christianity as this had nothing to do with it? The French do have an open and tolerant lifestyle which this celebrated and the Greeks did start the Olympics wayyyy back in the day. Chill out.

    They always mock Christ.
    Not Buddha.
    Not Muhammad.
Not the pantheon of Roman gods.
    Definitely not Judaism.
    Only Christ.
You don’t need to be a Christian, but it might be worthwhile to ponder why….

I would not say that this has "nothing" to do with Christianity, but it is interesting (to me) that the link offered by HH to support their perspective ends with, "Interestingly, despite its common connotation to Christianity, the iconography of a halo traces back to Hellenistic and Roman art, where the sun-god Helios and Roman emperors often appear with a crown of rays. Due to its pagan origin, it was avoided in early Christian art, and only until the 6th century was the halo used regularly in representations of Christ, the angels, and the saints. As such, the scene in question seems more fittingly as a tribute to the Greek mythology of the Olympic Games history – initially religious and athletic festivals where gods gather every four years at the sanctuary of Zeus in Olympia. "

Regardless of history and the Olympic's intent, their "Last Supper" was in poor taste. If they are surprised that some people are offended, then they aren't very smart or worldly.

Wiki is always an amazing source for facts. Anyone can create an account and edit as they see fit. It's the Babylon Bee of the internet.

You appear, to me, to have said two different things, 1." Anyone can create an account and edit as they see fit. " and 2. "content must be verifiable through citations to reliable sources." The "edit as they see fit" only works if the editor provides "reliable sources." I am not effing with you, I'm trying to point out that wikipedia is not a collection of the opinions of the various editors. It is a collection of information from reliable sources.
