As I have said before Dave Wieland scares the crap out of me. IMO he is totally unhinged. My neighbors have copies of his verbal abuse towards me on TOSC. The casual banter got out of control. I already have three cameras on my home with an alarm system. Five more will be here tomorrow. I do not trust him and did speak with MSCO non-emergency. Had Bill Pearson not doxed me on this site I would not feel as unsettled.

Our country is so divided right now it's hard to know who to trust. I am extremely grateful Dave did not lock his FB page so at least I have an idea of what he looks like. All make your SM sites private. I have a feeling it will only get worse.

    Be well, be safe.

    For context:

Sorry John, but you must realize this woman has dropped more dimes than an informant in a Chicago street gang. Why does she avoid questions any resident would know immediately? She finds some info from FB account that hasn’t been used in 8 years and acts like she knows everything about me. Then runs this attorney thing a few times thinking it intimidates me. You know my background and her alleged probate attorney doesn’t scare me. She should be worried more about abuse of process. Consequently, it is her time to put up or STFU.

You are scaring the hell out of me. You are way too Rabid about Oak Lawn. I was born in Christ Community Hospital. I don't remember Radclif's but then I am much younger than you and was not allowed to go to 95th street until I was 13 or so. I do remember the original Dove Candy store where I would go and purchase a block of white chocolate. I went to St. Gerald School, then OLCHS. Yes I remember "elevator passes". There was a lagoon on 95th street with a hot house. I ice skated there with my friends a lot. Brandt's tavern. I saw the tornado of 67 and my BIL volunteered with the fire department pulling out bodies from the rubble. Now buzz off and quit being a stalking freak.

I don’t know where live, I don’t know what you look like and aside from sarcastic remarks, she is nothing to me. Remember, she looked me up first, I never searched FB or other media about her. Another empty threat.

1st encounter. I joined 12/8/23. You have zero posts from the day I joined until this one you made on 3/22. I looked on FB to see who you were long after. People should keep their social media platforms private as anyone in the world can look up any person. I can pull up the post where I told you I thought both being from Oak Lawn would provide some commonality and conversation if you like.

I’m back. I am tan (not really), rested (somewhat) and ready ( most def). Looking forward to crossing swords with other members. Consequently I shall start Happy Hippie which seems to be an oxymoron, and believing she is a Baby Boomer and a former hippie, I invoke a statement from Woodstock saying that brown acid isn’t particularly good so you have been forewarned. That about sums her attitude.

I hated high school and couldn’t wait to leave. Graduation night a girl who was in my home room for four years asked me if I was sad. I replied no because starting tomorrow I will never see any of you people again in my life. It has come true and I am happy for it. University was different and I enjoyed all my classes, organic chemistry not so much.

But you only say that when you are referring to me. Nice try Einar. Calling someone an animal can be offensive and carry a derogatory meaning. Right?

Nope, doesn't fit, but I do want to thank you Einar. I have learned a lot.

As the divide between Americans widens into what appears to be an almost unbridgeable chasm, isn’t it about time to begin looking at what the Balkanization of America needs to look like?

Do you really think that way?

"By the time of the Alamo, pretty much everyone had been exposed to the idea that slavery was a morally corrupt institution, but this was trumped in many places by the fact that its implementation was profitable. And who were the American (actually, Texan) heroes who died at the Alamo? There was James Bowie, slave owner, smuggler and slave trader; Davy Crockett, slave owner; William “Buck” Travis, slave owner; and lest we forget the leaders of the Texas independence movement, there was Sam Houston, who “owned slaves throughout his life” and Stephen Austin, a slave owner who wrote in 1833 that ”Texas must be a slave country.” For the people who would deny the significance of these facts, you are the erasers and cancelers of our history."

History should not be erased, however, that part of history no matter how terrible it was, no longer exists. Teach it in schools. Yes there are racists today and probably always will be. Religious wars took place as well as cultural wars.

What are your thoughts about the burning down of major cities after the George Floyd murder? How do you feel about all the books that have been banned in schools, or the 'new' books teaching children about transgender? California does not allow parents to have a say in that aspect of their child's education. How do you feel about all the historical statues destroyed? Are those statues not significant so they should be destroyed? Same with Catcher in the Rye, Charlotte's Webb, Gone with the Wind, Grapes of Wrath, Handmaid’s Tale and on and on. Are you good with erasing those books from history?

Who gets to decide what history is significant enough to be preserves and taught, and what history can be destroyed and be obliterated from the face of the earth

I guess I missed the part where major cities were burned down after the George Floyd issue. There certainly were some demonstrations and some arson, destruction, and the like. I don't believe in destroying statues, how do you feel about toppling statues of Saddam Husain? I don't think any books should be erased from history. I don't think any history should be obliterated from the face of the earth. I don't have a problem with teaching children about transgender issues. And I'm not sure what "California does not allow parents to have a say in that aspect of their child's education." means.
Do you think that the South, or states in the south should have been allowed to leave the union? In 1861.

Saddam Husain Evidentially for those who suffered under his regime it was the right thing to do. Huge difference between that and what happened here.

Saddam Hussein silenced all political opposition in Iraq and converted his one-party state into a cult of personality. Over the more than 20 years since then, his regime has systematically executed, tortured, imprisoned, raped, terrorized and repressed Iraqi people.

Do you think that the South, or states in the south should have been allowed to leave the union? In 1861 I understand why. I don't believe people are chattel. I also think we should be focused on today's issues. We can teach about important parts of history, the outcome was of great significance.

I think mom used to call your responses nitpicking.

Did you not see the photos of the fires? The damage.

Parents should have a say in what their children are taught in school. They should be advised about a child having difficulty with gender identification. Do you have kids?

Re Sadam. I can't answer. I was not abused by him. I did not live in Iraq. I think he was a terrible person. We are America and this country is ours. They got to choose what they did. Americans chose to tear down our statues. If Iraqi's choose to destroy their history who am I to judge. I will and do have opinions about my birth country's history and will stand up for what I believe is right, and destroying history is not one of them. Building a better future is.

The South. I did answer. You chose not to understand. I understand why they did it. I don't agree with the reason, hence the comment I don't believe people are chattel. Today there is not one person alive who was/is a slave. There is not one person living today who owned a slave. It was in the past, over 100 years ago. Move on. Look at what cancel culture did. Nancy Green was erased from history. Jane Austin is also a victim.

Nitpicking. Sure, but I feel that such actions are needed in this . . …. post truth era. It is, in my opinion, important to choose one’s words carefully because words have meanings and these meanings should (another of the 27 words and phrases that mean “in my opinion”) be adhered to. Gaza is a city “burned down.” Warsaw and Hiroshima and Hamburg were cities burned down. Minneapolis was not burned down. And using such rhetoric is (opinion) counter productive.

Yes, parents should have a say as to what their kids are taught in school, does that mean that they should have a say in what other parent’s kids are taught? it’s a mess with no easy solutions but turning over all decision making to the squeaky wheels is not, in my opinion, the best solution.

I have kids, daughters, and went to parents-teachers conference once and was told by the teacher that, ‘Shannon was a wonderful student.” Only Shannon was not my daughter’s name. She had told the teacher and her class mates that this is what she was called and so that’s what they called her. Not quite the same as changing genders, but as close as I’ve gotten. Do you have children?

The Saddam statue. So is pulling statues down a matter of what we as individuals feel about the person’s whose statue is being knocked over? Also, (quote) “ After a couple of hours, the US Marines toppled the statue with a M88 armored recovery vehicle” so that statue was a case of Americans deciding what to do with an Iraqi statue. Is that how it should work?

Nancy Green (I had to look her up) has not been erased from history and certainly Jane Austin has not. Maricopa Library gets 68 hits for a search of her. books. Probably more for movies. Where is she being erased from history? I was driving across Kansas once and went into a library for a break and discovered a display of Aunt Jemima stuff, and other related artifacts. They had not been erased. They were on display.

I asked “Do you think that the South, or states in the south should have been allowed to leave the union? “ You wrote back “ I did answer. You chose not to understand.“ That is not answering my question. Your “answer” was “I understand why.” I didn’t ask why they tried to leave, I asked should they have been allowed to leave. Please do not pull that “You chose not to understand“ stuff in this discussion.
