2 quotes, zero facts. You can babble your feelings and thoughts all day long, but in the grand scheme of things unless you are BFF's with the CEO's you know nothing. "the plans were reported". IF they were where are they? Why won't you post a link?

    O&T,
C&S Wholesale plans for stores they take ownership of, IF merger goes through.

    In a statement, C&S said:
“We are also very excited to welcome thousands of highly skilled grocery retail, store and distribution team members from Kroger and Albertsons who are currently responsible for these supermarkets. Their knowledge, along with C&S’s wholesale and supply expertise, will ensure these stores continue to successfully serve their communities. C&S will recognize the union workforce and maintain all collective bargaining agreements. We are committed to retaining frontline employees and further investing in growth. C&S is well prepared to successfully operate these stores for many generations to come. We have an experienced management team with an extensive background in food retail and distribution, and the financial strength to continue investing in growth. Our retail transformation furthers C&S’s ability to maintain our legacy of braggingly happy customers. ~ C&S Wholesale Grocers spokesperson”

    ❗️NEW July 13, 2024 Arizona Republic
“If the merger is approved, how would that shake out in Arizona?
The current plan is for Kroger to buy all 135 Albertsons/Safeway properties, then sell 101 of them to C&S Wholesale Grocers, a company that operates Piggly Wiggly supermarkets and other stores, primarily in Wisconsin, Georgia, the Carolinas and other states back east. C&S would retain the Safeway name for those stores, though it's unclear what banner the Albertsons here would take. Also unclear is what the acquired stores that Kroger retains would be called, though they'd presumably be renamed as Fry's.“

The deal isn't done yet, but Arizona's grocery landscape could undergo significant change if Kroger succeeds in buying Albertsons and Safeway stores in the state. Who owns these supermarkets now?

SCR, I imagine you realize this nonsense was the result of the PR dept. telling their customers how great this will be before the prices are jacked up. I have seen this many times in my life.

    From same article:
On Tuesday, the state’s attorney general office released a statement reemphasizing that Arizona would “continue to aggressively litigate this case opposing this merger.”
The state’s chief concern is that with fewer options, shoppers will pay higher prices.

They don't say which stores they may take over, and their main business is food distribution, not running grocery stores. But time will tell. I have said for years this "area" is not destined for greatness. The group I meet with regularly for lunch are not happy. 3 were of the opinion this community would benefit by incorporating.

HH, tell your three uninformed friends that incorporation means, to quote the Orange Mussolini, taxes like you have never seen before. We would have a legislative body, police department, fire department, water department, gas and electrical department, libraries, tax collections. I doubt all those people are going to volunteer out of the goodness of their hearts. Then there are union contracts.

Contact Sun City Museum regarding the previous push to incorporate. Obviously your friends are not deep thinkers.

I guess this is the space where you say that you are uncomfortable what I typed and you are going to visit your lawyer.

Thanks for the laugh. Needed it this am. No defamation here. There is nothing anyone can do about the fact that you are a giant ass and narcissist. Anyone who even hints at an opinion that is different from any belief of yours is 'uninformed', which btw is one of the nicer words you have used to describe those who don't agree with you. You cannot write a sentence without degrading someone. You have done everything, seen everything, know everything and you hate everything. Wow two peas of the same character in the same pod. What are the chances.

    https://psychcentral.com/blog/grandiosity-and-delusion-grandeur

Little excerpt from the article in the above link:

    What is grandiosity?
Grandiosity refers to a sense of specialness and self-importance that might lead you to:
    • boast about real or exaggerated accomplishments
    • consider yourself more talented or intelligent than others
    • dismiss or try to one-up the achievements of others
    • believe you don’t need anyone else to succeed
    • believe you’re above rules or ordinary limits
    • fail to recognize that your actions could harm others
    • lash out in anger when someone criticizes you or points out a flaw in your plans
Grandiosity often resembles self-centered or arrogant behavior, so people often don’t recognize it as a mental health symptom.

You may not even be aware of some of your grandiose thoughts or behaviors.

Practicing psychiatry without a license again? Your friends are uniformed are they not? Did I not speak the truth about incorporation? Are you not now subscribing to the Bill Pearson of saying things about I have never said. I told you I have a particular skill set which seems to upset you and Tom Marone.

BTW, you should read Seneca, he has much to say on life and death in letters to his son and others. He was a stoic, look it up.

As you have proved once again, no good deed goes unpunished.

What is ND, Norte Dame’s website? I have hated Norte Dame U since I was young. Norte Dame cathedral is totally different! But my favorite French Cathedral is St. Chapelle. You have to see it to believe it. Stained glass like you can’t believe. Second is the cathedral in Aachen, Germany, seat of Charlemagne, literally with magnificent stained glass, a church within a cathedral.

So what do you think of the Tiffany windows on the Gadsden hotel in Douglas?

Oh Pug! You make me laugh! Like I said, you hate.

I told you I have a particular skill set which seems to upset you and Tom Marone. Doesn't upset me, just reminds me how arrogant you are. IMHO you do have one skill set.

Practicing psychiatry without a license again? Nope! opinion. Although as much as I would like the person who has the nuclear codes to have a dementia test (God forbid the phone rings at 3am with some type of disaster he will be fast asleep just like Hillary, but 'what difference at this point does it make?) I would like you to be diagnosed by a shrink.

Your friends are uniformed are they not? Again, they are entitled to their opinions regardless of what you think. You have your opinions, they have theirs. Opinions are 'feelings' and can't be wrong.

BTW, you should read Seneca.....sorry, any book recommended by you will not be read by me. The books you read got you to the hateful place in your mind where you live.

CT, I buy books so I don’t have to join the conga line at the library. Don't want to be among those you consider "beneath" you. More hate.

CT, never been to Douglas, but it sounds like a good road trip. Have you ever seen the Tiffany skylight in the Chicago Cultural Center formerly the main Chicago library? Really quite something. I believe that there are Tiffany windows in the Art Museum of Chicago, but I have not lived there in 20 years so not sure. They do have windows by Marc Chagall. I do make a couple of book recommendations below you might like if you have not read them already.

HH, sorry but you are one sad person, talking about bitching about everything.

I’m glad I make you laugh, I amuse you. I would ask what makes me so funny, am I a clown? So you recognize the quote?

It has become apparent to me and probably others that you are afraid of people who know more than you.Rather than learn from them, like I have, you insult them and do armchair Google psychiatry. Basically you do live a life of quiet desperation, with apologies to e e cummings.

Maybe you should read the classics and learn something. Try Aristophanes as he wrote comedies which are seriously funny. His most well known is The Lysistrata, you’ll like it. The women in Athens go on a sex strike so they can bring to an end the war between the Athenians and the Spartans. Spike Lee did a movie version of this play. The play is over 2,500 years old.

As usual, you are incorrect, I buy books because I normally read them more than once and have made recommendations, such as The Boys in the Boat which is the story of the 1936 University of Washington Olympic rowing team. Learn about true teamwork and personal sacrifice to achieve a goal. The 1936 team also featured Jesse Owens and the late Chicago Alderman Ralph Metcalfe ( he placed second to Jesse in the 100 meters race). I have read this book three times because it is that good. I also recommend Devil in the White City, it’s about the 1893 Colombian Exposition in Chicago in what is now Jackson Park and a notorious serial killer at the end of the newly constructed Englewood Elevated. I own several books by each author as they are that talented and tell great stories. It has nothing to do about people beneath me as you put it or hate. I would say that assumption is your middle name and you know what assumptions are.

    Have a positive day.

I've not seen those Chicago Tiffany's but have tracked down a number of other of his windows elsewhere. I think my pictures from Douglas were among the several thousand photos that were wiped off my computer when my house was hit by lightning. I thoroughly enjoyed "Devil in the White City," well . ...... as much as one can enjoy a book about a vicious serial killer. I've been a student of the White City for years (decades) so that book was right in my strike zone.

Dare I ask what licenses you might hold? Is it in all the advice you give us on Law or Accounting, or is it a license for when you were working in the meat department of a grocery store?

I know its my bad for even responding, but you just can't seem to stop bloviating!

And I would appreciate it if you keep my name out of your conversations with others. I must be living in your head! Good!

Blocked CT and Dave. I think DW has a lot of sinister ghosts living in his head. In my years on this earth I have only met 2 people like him. well 1 in person and I hope to keep it that way.

Back to supermarkets was in Safeway yesterday. Already a lot of brands are gone. They messed with my coffee! Never a good thing.

I will no longer mention you here. I did hold an Illinois Insurance Producer License as surety bonds were a form of insurance, which the company required each underwriter to hold, from 1979 to 2005 when I retired from the company. I am persona non grata at the meat counters at Safeway and Fry’s. I do not need a license to represent persons at administrative hearings and my career taught me everything I needed to know about financial statement analysis. I only prepared financial statements as homework for seminars the company was holding for its underwriters.

Conversely, what certifications from the American Institute of Parliamentarians do you hold or did you learn while plowing runways in Nam? Just asking.

Wow, now you can attack me in my posts to others but I cannot respond. You are what I always thought you were, which is opinion. Why block CT as we have had some great history discussions and family trees? His is amazing but you apparently have tunnel vision on everything. Typical southwest sider, all talk no schmarts.

You are correct, I don’t know how the platform works. I get to post or respond, that’s all I need to know. It’s like phones, I don’t care how many pixels it has or cool apps, I just want to make a phone call. I do know my limits from a technology standpoint and quite happy with that. The rest is of no interest to me.
