Reality

How would one go about getting the info on 5 year plan, 10 year plan, and reserve study that I’ve heard are finished? Or are they not complete?

 

There is no reality in this city any longer. There is a ton of Board Member Bull Shit though. Members don't matter. Chatting with a Library acquaintance today and do not like what I heard. We don't even know if we are going to have a library and you want to see a 5, 10 year plan and a reserve study? Good luck. Latest from Friends of the Library website.

From the lack of responses I take it no one knows and that is a problem.

 

Tom, both are complete and were presented at the last B&F meeting. One of the reasons they were not released was because late info from LRP was not included. There is. B&F meeting that is “unofficial “ because of an outdated BP27 which the Board refuses to change for unknown reasons. Anyway the meey8ng is open to members and if you are in SC you might want to attend.

HH, no problem, the committee wants to get things right. There will also be preliminary work on the budget so it can be released in the fall. When you are working on a budget of around $30M, it is not done in a two hour meeting. This is how professionals work.

 

I suspect the reason being that Board Policy (BP-27 on Committees) will most likely be removed from the BP's and placed back into the Bylaws, and that's why it hasn't yet been change?

 

Thanks Dave. Where and when is this B&F meeting? Is there also a LRP meeting? Would like to attend.

 

Tom, the B&F meeting is July 16 @ 11 AM in the Board room @ Lakeview. Sorry I cannot help you with LRP meeting but it will come up because there is a joint B&F+LRP group that meets. If I find out about the LRP meeting I’ll let you know.

 

Thanks Dave! Reviewed the lrp minutes and it said there is a lrp meeting on 7/9/24 at 8:30am at Lakeview. Please let me know if you hear that this is correct.

 

I see what you're saying Tom in the summary, but I attended both meetings last month and for some reason I have both the LRP and F&B committee meetings in my notes indicating that both meetings will be on the 16th. LRP @ 8:30 and F&B @ 11?

I guess time will tell?

 

I’m guessing your info is correct, though I may check on the 9th to see if the meeting is being held. I swear I saw an upcoming meetings list for RCSC, but do not recall where I saw it.

 

I guess we'll have to see what the next RCSC email blast has to say, but of course they have been wrong before!

 

Well....the RCSC emal blast came out this morning and I don't see any meetings listed for this week?

Okay, my bad, there was an unofficial gathering on Tuesday but it seemed more like an F&B committee meeting than a Long Range Planning since most of the discussion was about the costs and conditions of the golf courses and pending water restrictions?

It's because BP-27 says there are no committee meetings in July and August, this was not an "official" meeting so I suspect you will not see any summaries posted.

The one interesting unofficial comment that I heard was the current situation and negotiation regarding the T-Bird property. Apparently the owners will not negotiate a lower price, and the RCSC is not willing to offer any more than they originally offered.

So I guess they're in a Mexican Stand-off. Let's see who blinks first. I have my own suspicions!
