Is there a reason we can't log into the portal to get the Candidate Packets electronically?

This process baffled me. Why in today's world can't you get an electronic form to an email address that is registered to a member in good standing. The only reason I can think of for this requirement is to keep snowbirds (+/-50% of our population) from being board members.

It's an archaic system, a waste of paper, time and money paid to the employee who has to put together the 'packets'. I asked this question before and will ask again. I was under the impression Dr. Chat was elected to the technology committee to be our own version of "Bill Gates". Nothing has changed.

Now that's a damn good question and I'm going to ask that at the next Election Committee Meeting to which I am a Member, but won't be until September.

Seems to me that they can apparently verify everything they need to know. After all, if they can verify your eligibility to vote or request a mail-in ballot on-line, why not too request a Candidate Packet?

My response to a statement on SC Advocates:

I am not arguing the facts of the past. I could not care less about the history. It happened, it can't be changed and evidentially no one is learning from it or Sun City would not be having the issues it is today. For the love of God this place can't even have board application packets available electronically. If you want to volunteer to be a board member you must pick it up in person and I am assuming hand write the application instead of logging onto the portal and downloading a copy and completing electronically.

Hey, maybe we still are in the pre-computer 60's.

Tom, I like the quote about government but why not include the last part which is “and deserve it good and hard.” I believe that is from H L Mencken. You should read more of him, American Mercury I believe is the magazine he wrote for.
