Director Steve Collins said only about 30 owner residents received Foundation funds in 2023! (January 25, 2024 RCSC Board meeting)

There’s a healthy balance of funds to help many more members! The community generously contributes to the Foundation with the expectation they will be distributed.

Collins said not enough people know the help is available.

    Why not?

    Does card services
    • Have the Foundation informational flyers readily available to members displayed to discreetly pickup?
    • Mention the Foundation as a resource to members who call, email or come in with concerns about their ability to pay their assessments?
    • Invoices include brief content about Foundation purpose, website and contact information?

We need to do better before members decide there isn’t a need and stop donating.

“Living on a single SSI amount is difficult and just under 10% of the community 3500 to 4000) people are in this situation. This is not insignificant.

We need to find another solution to deal with Poverty Level Residents in Sun City. Put the energy into finding a creative solution to that problem. Stop complaining and crying over increased assessments and costs. Look at the Sun City Foundation and other possible organizations that could maybe become a better solution.”

Too bad they want more info than the govt. I receive assistance from two other places and combined they did not require as much info as SCF does. Surprised they didn't ask for my first born. Plus with a former president of the foundation flinging my real name around here, totally disregarding my obvious request for anonymity by signing in with a pseudonym, does not instill much confidence. All that info for a once in a lifetime help with the assessment fee, thank you, but no.

All true, however you failed to mention the pages of financial and personal info they want. Someone dropped off an app at my home, I took one look and threw it in the trash.

    As always, the question remains:

Who freaking cares who you are?
And the answer is; No One. Absolutely no one.

Bigger letters please. I can't hear you.

Edit: No answer, just facts. You have a bad temper and take out your aggressions on who ever disagrees with you. The S C foundation does NOT do a good job of letting folks know about them, not to mention that there TWO S C Foundations. One for annual assessment help and another for yard clean up assistance. Two separate entities. Communication is key. EO stated only 30 people used funds in 2023. however 10% (3,500-4,000) people in this community are in need. How is that doing a good job at getting the word out? When I googled SC Foundation the one that came up was for yard work. I sent an email (I did not know there were 2 in SC) asking the following questions:

"There is very little information online about SCF.
    1. Is there a form I can download to apply for funds?
    2. Who are the employees of the SCF?
    3. Who is on the BOD for the foundation?
    4. Are there any paid employees?
    5. Do employees/volunteers sign a confidentiality agreement regarding the financial information of applicants?"
I received a return call within a few hours and had a lovely chat and will pose the same questions to SC RCSC tomorrow. The other issue I have with SC is the contractor referral program. I used one of the companies on the list and it turned out the person was wanted by another State FBI for drugged rape and failure to appear in court. So here he is in SC, sent all info and FBI report to SC and they would not remove from approved list because people "liked the company". They call 3 to 5 references. The references could be their friends, who knows? I have all communication with HOA and the company.

It is obvious no one freaking cares!!! Absolutely No One!

As to the “stop complaining and crying over increased assessments and costs” comment, I would still love to see the promised “5 year plan” from the RCSC and BOD. In fact I would like to see an at least “15 year plan” detailing an expenses vrs revenues chart. Maybe people would better understand the RCSC call for higher fees and assessments. This is part of a solution not a complaint.

The project team under the leadership of Mike Wiprud, made up of a small group from Budget & Finance and LRP is hard at work creating this plan, under a VERY short time frame. This is no small task, with too many moving parts to detail, but includes capital, operating and PIF. While the plan is 5, it is intended to roll each year, and because PIF is included it definitely must go out farther. And, we acknowledge future building plans must start as MTNV is coming in to its development phase - yes, it's close. This project also includes the Reserve Study that is under analysis as we also work the plan for ensuring we can take care of $20M in deferred maintenance in the next 4 years. We don't have a crystal ball. This requires also hiring, training, and some reorganization of staff.
