It was a really interesting meeting with the committee recommending sending the full package to the board. I would argue, and in fact did state, this was the most open budgeting process i have ever seen in the 20 years we have lived in Sun City. That includes my three years on the board, we never saw this kind of detail and analysis. This is what RCSC members should expect from their leadership.

They also said the full report would be posted sometime today and will include all of the information regarding the what, where, why and how much. Once it's posted and you get a chance to review it, i will share some further thoughts and comments i made at the meeting. I suspect eyesopen will have a link posted as soon as it comes out.

Well, Bill, it’s 5pm, no report posted, yet.

I even check the RCSC home page, if you scroll down, lists recent posts!

What? Just stuff someone decides to put there!

That home page serves as our WELCOME to visitors! It is unimpressive & embarrassing. Look at it HERE

    WE MUST DO BETTER!!

That's a bummer. The web site is a whole other discussion and i thought that was in the works.

Almost 1pm, Thursday, no Budget & Finance meeting report posted on the RCSC website.

If there’s a problem, perhaps a Plan B should be activated?

    AN E-BLAST???

A couple of things; first it is a committee recommendation and until we see the agenda for the meeting next Thursday, i will reserve judgement and my thoughts. The town hall meetings are going to create quite the shit storm.

And, they come after the first reading. There should have been a Town Hall exclusively for the budget. It's large, complicated and a lot of changes. Disappointed!

This will result in another $1.4 million to the coffers. What exactly for??

Tom. If you click on the link in post above yours, the presentation from Kevin McCurdy is there. It's an overview of the 23/24 comparisons. There are significant increases in staff, wage increases, utility costs, costs of goods and services. maintenance, capital expenses. There's a lot to digest for sure.

Thanks! I was under the impression all money spent was going to be presented in a detailed fashion. Will this be done at the town halls?

I thought similarly about the town halls. When first discussed only the SAC recommendations were to be the topic. Then LRPC wanted to present also budget and lrp. In a 2 hour time frame. Just an info dump I’m guessing. We shall see!

The Town Halls are designed to be listening sessions. The Long Range Planning Committee is conducting the sessions by offering a brief overview of the Board and Committee work so far this year and then opening the floor for member input on these and other topics on resident's minds.

The Budget and SAC really should have their own information sessions because of the wealth of information that should be shared with members but I have not heard of those meetings being planned.

Then why are the Town Hall graphics and publication content promoting:

    **Committee Updates**
Strategic Alternatives • Long Range Planning • Budget & Finance?

Perhaps the scheduled two-hour sessions will be divided between the three committees, 40 minutes each?

There will be brief updates. The presentation portion is designed for 25 minutes - that's it. Then we will open the floor for comments.
