Thanks for the clarification SM, i misread your post. I'm delighted to hear you reached out to Polly who immediately got back to you. Your comments are spot on and the task of what will come out of the survey results are daunting. For the past 15 years we've let the GM and a handful of board members dictate our future. While some would argue, so what; i would suggest there is no better example than the sorry state of our technology. And, if you want more proof, simply look at our golf structure where we somehow decided it was perfectly fine to allow non-residents to buy half-price full play golf passes and then compound the stupidity by letting them take the tee times that belonged to members. I still can't get my head around how or why anyone would think that was a good decision?

This can all be righted but it will be a slow and arduous process. There's no quick fixes, but without a well thought-out, well formulated plan, it won't happen. While those moaning about their right to get the 40 million dollar Taj Mahal, should we stay that course, none of the above will happen. I get it, i truly do. Theater folks have been screwed over and over again. Trying to fix it while destroying Sun City's future would be just plain nuts.

Quick question. Has anyone asked why we are selling non resident passes to 45 year olds when we are an age restricted community? And someone mentioned today that out of a large group of 12 pickelball players at Marinette that play regularly. 10 are guests. Is this another issue boiling up. Sorry if I'm off topic, but it came to mind when you mentioned nonresident golf!

Article 2 Section 6 #2. Except for golf and bowling Guests that live within 75 miles of Sun City are limited to 14 visits per year at RCSC facilities.

Welcome O and T. I would be shocked if we policed that clause very strenuously. So we are clear that section served a couple of purpose. One they didn't want folks living within 75 miles buying a home and then using the amenities as their go to place. There was a concern that people living in Peoria would buy a home here, live there and just use the gyms, pools and clubs.

Golf and 10 pin bowling was treated wholly different. They allowed, even encouraged, outsiders to use those two amenities. They both were taken under different conditions (to be cost neutral) while every other amenity was gifted to us with no provisions as to having to break even. The bad news is, we have now become dependent on outside play for both 10 pin bowlers and outside full play passes. It should never have come to this.

I see they raised the rates on outside full play to $3250 (with car) and $2750 (no car). They simply don't get it. These tee times they are allowing small groups (30 or more) to buy for a $2 up-charge is failed logic because those paying it, are full play pass buyers who are paying the least for a round of golf and getting the best tee times. Quick question, does anyone know the cost for a golf car rental?

Bill, I think it would be safe to say there is little to no monitoring of the 14 day limit for guests. If they are getting in on a guest pass, there is no record. Unless there has been a recent change, to my knowledge there has never been a record kept - at least not at a pool, spa, mini-golf, billiards, etc. (Maybe there's been a technology upgrade for such record keeping.) Our courts are prime real estate. Again....the owners are the losers if this is really more than an occasional happening; and it sounded like it is a problem. I'm not a player, so I don't know. But the regular player that brought it up seemed pretty adamant.
