turnkey - I can appreciate you didn't prepare and were nervous. But there are a lot of people wanting to speak, and a long drawn out he-said she-said dissertation doesn't really respect everyone else's time.

Having said that, I feel all 4 of your points are perfectly valid. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with jeb and for those of us who know the story, it was an awful way to treat a member who stepped up and lodged a complaint. Your points were well founded and well grounded, but it was hard for those who had no idea for them to get their head around. Ultimately, the main things were summed up in calling out the importance of how the board treats the membership.

It's not easy stepping to the mic and putting yourself in harms way; that needs t change so when members do approach the mic, they are made to feel like their opinions matter. That's why this election is so important. It's time for a change in direction.

I remember this incident very well, and remember when you challenged the perpetrator who called you a liar at a board meeting.

For those who don't understand what this is all about and without mentioning any names, (I don't want an incident report filed against me!) If you could remember which board meeting that confrontation took place, perhaps it's still available on YouTube?

As we mentioned above tk26, those of us who know the story feel your pain. The only way anything would ever come of it was through a personal legal action. The board nor management simply didn't care and were going to protect the board member. You asked the right question then, "why would i lie?' They couldn't/wouldn't answer it then and at this point it is yesterdays news.

The bigger issue is moving forward. The new due process language for board members is pure shit (sorry to be blunt but there is no better description). The motion was made by my good friend Ben Roloff, the results so far removed from what he proposed is laughable. Now there's even more cause for termination and the same cloistered decisions will be the order of the day...but worse.

Adding to the misery index is how the RCSC is weaponizing incident reports. I guess in retrospect you should be grateful you weren't suspended for a year like a member of the Sun City Advocates was. Or, like they have done to one of the current candidates for laughing at a committee meeting or for asking an employee to snap a picture. I can hardly wait to see how they punish the POSSE for showing up and speaking out.

These bylaws fix nothing and in some cases, make it worse. I know, "compromise blah, blah, blah." Consensus; "everyone had to give a little." And yet we are no closer to restoring the members rights that have been stripped from the documents in the past 15 years. Life's a bitch when you are afraid of the membership you are elected to represent.

What was the date of the meeting?
The RCSC YouTube channel only lists as video for 120 days. However, they are still out there. I have only found two that they removed permanently, when Sue abruptly, without a motion, adjourned the board meeting in September 2021 after installing Ege. (She saw one sign!)) And the December 2021 meeting when Darla Akin interrupted Karen MccAdam speaking as a Member at the floor podium, calling her a liar!
I’ll see what I can find on this video, just need the date.
    Thanks

    No, “Winner, Winner,
    Chicken Dinner,” for me…

I reviewed the minutes of the two October, 2021 RCSC Board meetings, 11th and 28th,
    see below.
The comments from October 11, 2021 seemed to be the more likely meeting. Looked for both videos. Zilch!
Interestingly, most of the Director candidate intros from October 20, 2021 and a test pattern, November 5, 2021 are still accessible, see below.
I think ALL meeting videos are archived as required. The RCSC attorneys have likely advised removing potentially litigious meeting videos from internet access.
We are allowed to request specific ones.
Should I request these board meeting videos:

    • RCSC Board of Directors Meeting – Monday, October 11, 2021
    • RCSC Board of Directors Meeting – Monday,September 13, 2021 3 minutes 42 seconds previously posted:
      (Wilson adjourns meeting almost immediately)
    Let me know!

October 2021 RCSC Board Meeting Minutes
    October 11, 2021 Minutes
    Relevant excerpts:
Member Comments: Members discussed paddle boats, walking paths and bike paths, the cost for the off-duty Law Enforcement Officers at the September 30, 2021 meeting, ADWR, the 2021 Annual Membership Meeting date, Golf course deed restrictions and other miscellaneous subjects.

Board Comments: Secretary Lehrer discussed how she felt serving on the board. She also noted that the reason we have Board Policies and Bylaws is not to penalize the Members. Most of the policies are due to an issue or incident that occurred previously.

Director Akins stated that the Board tried to get a Parliamentarian not to hire but to volunteer their time. She also corrected a previous statement where she said Roberts rules has “different versions” she meant different interpretations of Roberts Rules.
    (You okay, FYI?)

    October 28, 2021 Minutes
Member Comments: Members discussed the 2022 Budget, PIF increases, Mt. View Phase 3 proposal, Golf Course deed restrictions, a Parliamentarian, and paddleboats. There was also discussion about the 2021 Annual Membership Meeting, proxy votes, the Corporate Bylaws, and other miscellaneous subjects.
Board Comments: Director Hoffer noted that he received an email from a member asking what the process was for vote tabulation at our Board Elections. Per the request of the member, he explained the process in depth to the members.
Director Westemeier asked for members to vote for candidates based on the facts and not emotions. Explained time and responsibility you will have to devote if you are elected to the Board.
Director Akins expressed her displeasure with the responses that have been made toward the Board. She also discussed extending the time limit for members to comment.
President Wilson talked about the Board Member Exchanges we used to have, where members did not have a time limit to speak, and we only had one Board Meeting a month.
