I'm sitting here watching people attempting to overthrow the national election. Amazing. I am wondering if the Congressfolks who were going to object to the electoral votes, as in those from Arizona, are going to continue with that stance after the occupation of the US Capitol is cleared up. And the tweets!
:The woman shot in the US Capitol just died. I don't know who she was or what she was doing in the Capitol.

Wish the storm into the Capitol yesterday was just a bad dream. There doesn't seem to be any details yet about the woman shot by a Capitol Police Officer and later died other than she was a conspiracy theorist, ex military and well known among these radicals. Sad that anyone was injured/killed but what did these people expect? Only 52 arrests? I'm glad that most of the rioters didn't wear masks because of their support for Trump since it will make it much easier for the authorities to identify and hopefully make arrests. If this is just washed over there will be ongoing hearings into how this was allowed to happen.

The Republicans that have only recently had a "come to Jesus moment" and seemed shocked at the riot yesterday are just as responsible as Trump. No excuse for the behavior of anyone involved in yesterdays criminal and unpatriotic storm into the Capitol. Listening to our own AZ legislators is a real eye-opener at how they dance around the "terrible riots" but fail to blame the person at the center of the cry for rebellion. I am so ashamed at the actions taken on behalf of AZ's electoral objection.

Also just try and imagine what the carnage would have been if it had been antifa or BLM making this assult on American democracy. There would have been a lot more than 52 people arrested and a lot more broken heads.

I notice today that our own Debbie Lesko was one of those who voted against the legally elected electors from AZ. Saying basically that the election was rotten. Wait, someone help me, but is this not the same election, same ballots that elected her to Congress? Please explain, what am I missing. Meanwhile international reactions to the events in D.C. continue to pour in, my favorite came from Russia where a spokesperson said something like, "Terrible. This looks like the Ukraine."

We all know this would be the case and I try not to think about what could have been. It is so good that the Mayor of D.C. did such a good job at urging residents no to do any type of counter protest yesterday.

I am having an interesting morning looking at news web sites from other countries and seeing how they are covering Washington. Lots of pictures of the Confederate flag for one thing. Here is another tid bit I found. "A newly elected lawmaker from West Virginia filmed himself storming the US Capitol on Wednesday, shouting in a live feed on Facebook: "Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!" I wonder if, when he looses his job, trumpsters will storm the WV Capitol?

I'm glad that at least one local news station displayed Debbie's photo as one of those voting against Arizona's election count. How can her conscience be clear? I only wish that she hadn't just been re-elected.

My guess is that she would be elected again, the lesson of what just happened is lost on anyone who does not want to see, though I do wonder (anyone able to find the stats?) how many of the votes for Lesko came from the much maligned "mail-in-ballots?" I sure voted that way.

This was our first year to vote by mail(drop box in Youngtown). It would also be interesting to see how many first time mail ballots were requested and how many were actually returned. I'm sure the stats are somewhere. COVID was the reason we didn't want to vote in person. This was not a typical voting cycle and of all people our AZ legislators should respect our rights to vote by mail to avoid illness/death. My vote is just as valid as those voting in person.

We're almost at the point where we can be hopeful that there will be a sense of decency and dignity back in our White House. I can only hope that the day continues in a peaceful and truly positive way.

I have been having an interesting time going over trump's Pardoned list. Gossip says that places on it were just sold and that is about the only sense I can get out of Kwame Kilpatrick for example, ex-mayor of Detroit.

  12. CT, did you see our idiot State Representative, Kevin “Worm infested Food Truck” Payne wants absentee ballots notarized before you must drop off at a polling place on Election Day. The party line is that notary attests that the ballot was completed by the person named. Nothing to do with signature verification which is the real test. Being from Chicago and spending over twenty years as a poll watcher and mostly an election judge, I know almost every trick in and out of the book. Just ask the election judges in my precinct as I follow their rules and then they make up new ones on the spot. Amateurs. Oh yes, notary charge therefore it is a de facto poll tax, which to the uninformed violates the Twenty Fourth Amendment. Kevin says the State will pay for the charges, but Governor Dopey wants a $600million tax cut. So where is this money coming from? Where do they find these clowns? Just asking and do not get me started on Debbie “the Seditionist” Lesko.

Too late. She will forever be known as the Congressperson who claimed that the election that elected her was fraudulent. Also this idea that Congress can vote in alternate electors from states that they don't like the results in - - -- with no proof is fascinating. I can just see the next election. The Dems have the majority so =, North Dakota, toss out the republicans slate, put in another one. Etc, Etc, etc. And now the Reps here and elsewhere are turning cannibal and eating their own.
