"And this is why testing isn't necessary. We have the best testing in the world, but testing's not necessarily the answer because they were testing them," Trump said. This was at a press conference and he's referring to Pence's press sec'y testing positive for CV-19. He's undoubtedly been told many times that testing isn't preventative, it's to reveal who has CV-19 so they can be quarantines and not spread it to others. But he doesn't listen.

There's little hope for leadership from the Federal Gov't to mitigate CV-19 with a President so stupid and arrogant he won't listen to experts that certainly know more than he does. We're clearly on our own to choose a path of survival, both for our democracy and our lives. Saving democracy won't be easy, but a start is to NOT re-elect Trump, nor any of his supporters. Saving us from CV-19 is a lot dicier.

This week we learned the CV-19 virus is in the semen of survivors (we already knew that, eg, the Ebola virus has been found in semen 3-YEARS after men recovered.) We also learned that about 100 children worldwide are now sick with a little understood blood infection that relates to CV-19, and that 3 of them in NY died from it. We're learning more every day but it takes years of study to understand a virus. It wasn't that long ago we thought children were unaffected. Next week there will undoubtedly be new revelations.

Right now we only know of two things for sure that can mitigate the spreading of CV-19 -- everyone staying home or test/trace/quarantine. (I guess there's a third if we're willing to accept a LOT more deaths -- herd immunity -- and we don't know that works for sure with CV-19.) Nonetheless we're reopening with abandon in spite of the projected ramifications. The science predicts every state/business that reopened last week has started a new exponential curve of infection that will get out of hand within 6-weeks +/- unless testing, masks, tracing, quarantining becomes a prevalent. Trumps style so far has been blame others and change when wrong. There's no changing course for the dead, and he seems not to care.

Wasn't Somalia one of those "shithole" countries?

Re-opening may save the economy but will customers survive to buy again. The numbers of people possibly affected by a single contagious CV-19 spreader are staggering. Does anyone believe any US city/state is really prepared? Here's a recent example from South Korea... the manpower involved is unbelievable!
Think MLB, NFL game, Sundial concert?
