sounds like Kevin Payne in action again. What standing does he have with Sun City?

What is most disturbing about the post involving a politician and a Management person is that no names were mentioned.

If you are going to make a post suggesting that there is collusion between a management team member and a politician, names should be given so that the general community can judge for themselves whether either of these 2 people should be involved in Sun City. This is an open forum where individuals can express their opinions without fear of retribution.

Management is there at the pleasure of the BOD. If they don't agree with the BOD, then they should make their disagreements known or find a new job.

  4. The politician is definitely Food Truck Kevin, Management is a little tougher. There is a possibility that the conversation never took 0lace. I wasn’t there so I cannot verify.

It was suggested to me that the Bod deals with these issues (if/when they do) through a series of emails and phone calls, which they in their wisdom have deemed to be "not meetings." The Dog Park Folks have been led to believe that the fee business will not apply to Duffeeland because it isnot a monitored facility. We'
and then when a vote is taken the response will be unanimous. ow does that happen?

    ll see.

It was interesting to note, the board president appeared to think the punch card for walking the mountain was a good idea. How odd. Several other of the board members clearly not so enamored with it. Ben was right, they could have taken immediate action and done away with it but that would have flown in face of a management decisions. So what? The management team/GM works for the board, not the other way around. Come on guys, if you don't like the policy, change it.

Did anyone hear why Darla Akins wasn't at the BOD meeting? Even her name placard was gone.

Another vacancy? Or were they just being polite, removing her name when they knew she would not be there?

  9. CM, I wouldn’t think the worst in this situation. Darla might have told Marcia/Jan in advance for some personal reason that she would not be in attendance. This happened once when Stella was under the weather.

  10. CT, funny me defending management, but I do believe it is door number 2.

Then why was Diana Grettingers name plate out, but not Darla's?

Odd on all accounts. In the good old days they used to announce so and so was excused and absent.

Darla was kind enough to answer my email. She had to attend a funeral and was not available that day. So glad to know she is still a part of the board.

  14. BP, sad to say that the old days are like the ante bellum South, gone with the wind.

I highly suspect the replacement for the exiting Diana Grettinger is retread Gene Westermier. He has been everywhere the last couple of days, and he was talking about the expense it is going to cost to convert all of the courses to desert landscaping. Woe is us.

I don't think there is any doubt about that Carole. I shuddered as i watched the last board meeting as the magic word "water" was mentioned and one could almost see the joy of becoming all things golf yet again. I have to step back from the keyboard before i go into another rant on how badly we have screwed ourselves and our future by insuring we have green golf courses.

No, its not about keeping the courses green. Apparently some mandate has come down which states golf courses can no longer use more than 90 acre feet to water them. One of our courses uses 200 acre feet a day. So he is stating how expensive it is going to be to make them all desert landscaping. So more money in the hole to make the rest of them desert landscaping, not keep them green.

Does it really matter who replaces Diana? The BOD is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the real person running Sun City.
As for the water situation - the current state of affairs with regard to water valley wide is something the LRPC should have been looking at years ago. Arizona can no longer continue to use water like it was an infinite free resource.
Since this thread has taken a couple of turns I will say that if the mountain issue is addressed by the BOD at any schedules community meeting it would indicate that it has been discussed in private meetings without community input.
Title 33 means absolutely nothing to the GM or the BOD. Their idea of open meetings was nothing more than an attempt to appease those who clamored for Title 33.
