1. Whatever became of the law suit against Sun City? Is it still active? 2. Does Sun City no longer offer the tour bus for visitors? Thank you.
I'm not sure if Visitor Center still has a bus, but I don't think they do. Call them and ask. I think they started something new. http://suncityaz.org/discover/sun-city-az-visitors-center/
Something is set for this week. Here it is: http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/docket/CivilCourtCases/caseInfo.asp?caseNumber=CV2015-012458
Hey R, hope everything is good with you. The lawsuit has been quiet, dragging it out is not an unusual tactic against attorneys who take cases on contingency. I clicked on C, link but didn't see what was happening this week; but then i am legally challenged. The bus is a whole other story. When the Visitor Center was free standing the executive director bought it for something like $5000 from one of the local churches. It was a shot in the dark that took off and became quite popular. Both existing residents and potential buyers took it and was well liked by those who did. Late last year it breathed its last and the decision was made not to buy another. It was short sighted in my humble opinion. Now they are looking at something else that will be less labor intensive. We'll see if it is anywhere near as good.
You need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the case calendar for future and past dates of what happened. On 2/16/2018 there will be another oral argument.
I'd be willing to drive the tour bus for free if we could include paint drips on the tour. Otherwise . . . . . ................
The SCVC tour bus was always driven by a volunteer. Also, another volunteer was on board giving information.
An article about the SCVC bus tour was in the Feb 7 Sun City Independent on page 4. Instead of a bus tour there is a video presentation in a room near the Visitor Center called the Bell Walking Tour and The Sun City AZ Experience. The time was cut to 90 minutes from 2 hours which is favorable and can accommodate nearly 4 times as many people as the bus. The video will give viewers a chance to see more of the rec centers and activities in action, rather than just driving by them and viewing them from the outside. The bus was only able to stop at Fairway and Viewpoint Lake because of time restrictions.
We signed up for the tour in March for our annual spring training tip. Moving to Sun City is getting closer for us, the plan was for somewhere around or after May 2019. My employer decided to do a restructure and about 40 of us recently got the boot. Lots of high tech jobs in the Denver metro, but far fewer high tech jobs for someone ready to retire. My wife is a planner and the May 2019 plan was hers and she is still wanting to following that plan. We will see how this all plays out in the coming months.
Well let us know if there is anything (i.e.. questions) that we can help with this is the place to post them.
I had a pretty simple philosophy BW when i was working and facing ugly on a regular basis: take something bad and turn it into something good. Losing the job like that sucks, but you guys are so close to the next phase of your new life, make it happen and kick ass doing it. Sun City is waiting for you, bus tour or not.
Too funny... the Victory Cross Country is a nice bike. Prices in Denver metro are super inflated and still going, although down slightly from last spring. The prediction is that house price increases will slow to about 5% in 2018, but no evidence of that just yet. We know the Denver housing bubble is going to burst, when is the mystery. My wife is trying to get approval to work remote, if that happens it opens up some options.
Just as judging from yours you are looking for palace to plunk your uke. What do you glean from mine?
I have heard many, many people say they prefer SC over SCW. People are more friendly here. And just forget the other 2 for same reason. Want to know reason for my avatar? Just ask.
