RCSC Cardholders are advised that there will be on-going work in the Fairway Center parking lot the week of May 9, 2016 which includes crack repairs and re-sealing.

Work will be done in sections per the diagram below, beginning in the north and west lots and around the south side to the main entry driveway on Peoria Avenue. Phase 2 will go from the main entry drive around to the east side of the building.

Cardholders should use extreme caution during this work and obey all closures as posted. Parking during this time is also available in the Peoria Avenue median as necessary.

Your understanding and cooperation during this important RCSC maintenance work is greatly appreciated.

It's the site 3G, lots of issues. Interesting on the parking, not the first tim. Guess they just don't hold up here in the heat eh?

    Courts Closed for Resurfacing
Tuesday, May 10 through Wednesday, May 18

The tennis courts at the Mountain View Recreation Center must be closed while the courts are resurfaced from Tuesday, May 10 through Wednesday, May 18 (provided there are no weather delays).

RCSC Cardholders are encouraged to use the tennis courts at the Bell and Lakeview Centers during this period.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation & patience during this important RCSC project. ANOTHER AREA THAT IS NOT THAT OLD ! ! !

Here's the deal; once you live here awhile you come to understand how the heat affects everything that sits out under the raging sun. Compound that with 100 degree plus temps for 5 months and everything wears out faster. One only has to look at 4 year car batteries that last about two years. While it's way cheaper to live here than many other places, things just don't last as long as they do where the weather doesn't affect them as much.

Been here long enough to realize the effects of the heat, So why are the streets not needing repairs as quickly as the Rec Center Properties

    ?

3rdGen, *Are you saying that someone should be looking into the quality of contractors work? *You have mentioned parking lots, tennis courts, and a mini golf course. *My guess is that those are 3 different contractors, so do you think there is something else going on? *

Count your blessings. You could be dealing with all the huge pot holes and cracks caused by freezing cold and snow in the winter then the flooding from high snow melt in the spring causing washed out roads, etc..
    Gotta love Colorado weather... NOT!

In a few more years I will be happy to replace my car battery way too soon because of the heat. ;-)

Just seems sad that repairs are needed so quickly, How old is Fairway and it seems
like not to long ago the courts @ Mountain View were just converted to the Pickle-Ball and if memory serves me correctly the put put golf was replaced shortly after the bathrooms were redone on the
lower level @ Mountain View and they were just done again ! Yes there is something going on and I'll call it as I see it poor workmanship and no accountability with the attitude of just cut another check I really doubt the person or persons responsible for this would never have this attitude on
    their own property.

I still have nightmares of -30 before windchill, Been there done that ;) I just find it hard to believe that repairs are needed so soon and the worse part is the cost's.

Fairway is 7 or 8 years ago since it opened, so resurfacing it now doesn't seem unreasonable. I have no idea when the mini golf greens were redone, so i couldn't tell you if it was due or not. You can search Asst General Manager reports to see if has been of late. The tennis courts at Mountainview are wholly different from the Pickleball courts. The pball courts were recently built, the tennis courts are old.

That said, there has been several examples of work needed to be redone. The Bell parking lot was resurfaced a few years back and they had to come back because of issues. Same with the pool deck area. Seems there were also problems with the painting there, and the contractors had to come back and do it under warranty.

Not defending anyone, but if we are going to call someone on issues, let's at least have accurate facts and data.

Don't apologize, I appreciate people calling things out. *Right now I am not devoting enough time to what's going on here in SC. *Since I "retired" in Feb I seem to know less about what is going on here...having a boring job allowed me to keep up.

I hope to get better at time management during retirement.
