We've firmed up our next visit with one major exception. We need a place to stay for just over a week and we're open to suggestions. We have visited VRBO, Extended Stay America and Residence Inn. My wife and I will be there from March 30 until April 9. Our 18 yr old daughter will join us on April 6th as she attends her orientation at ASU. So far we've seen a rather unattractive park model in an RV resort for $71 a night and a couple of nice looking Sun City 2bed/2bath homes for around $125 a night. Then there's the Comfort Suites in Glendale near the stadium for $130 a night. I'd prefer to be in a price range below $100. Anyone have a friend or neighbor looking to pick up some rent money? We also need internet service during our stay as we'll be home shopping and need access to listings and property info.
The Best Western near 111th Avenue & Grand Avenue may fit the bill for you. Looks like the price is under $100 and it's pretty centrally located to shopping. No real frills but a clean place. You'd best make reservations at a place in the area soon as the weekend of April 2nd brings in the big Air Show at Luke.
Ideally the best thing would be to find a home to spend your week here in R. Immersing yourself in the community is the best way to get a true feel. I'll check around and see if anyone who is seasonal is leaving early, but I'd be surprised. The first couple of weeks in April is an awesome time to be here. You just have to promised not to steal the silverware (that's a joke). Having met R, I can vouch for him.
