On Tuesday of this week I was bored and stopped by the Communication and Outreach committee meeting. It was the first time back since the summer break so they had some catching up to do. I thought the meeting started at 8:30, but apparently they changed it to 9 am last spring. The time wasn't wasted as we chatted about home sales and the like. During the course of the meeting it was mentioned there's now on youtube a video of the presentation Jan Ek (general manager) did during the Annual membership meeting in January. I know many will find the information less than stimulating, but for anyone seriously considering Sun City as their home, it behooves them to understand how we function. We often write/talk about how inexpensive it is to live here. That isn't a question just on the lips of home owners. Developers and community managers from around the country are constantly inquiring; "how the heck are they able to have so much at so little cost?" Interestingly enough, there's not one answer, but several. Obviously the history is meaningful to the discussion as is our infrastructure. But there's more, in that we are really well managed. Jan and the entire RCSC crew are pretty darn good at what they do. And while I lament decisions from time to time, I think Sun City isn't anywhere near reaching it's potential; but that's a story for another day. Without further ado, here's the link to the budget presentation from our annual meeting.
Damn BW, imagine how I felt. I had to lay down and take a nap after reading V's suggestion. I'll attribute it to the foolishness of youth.
